Ryder Castillo POV

It was finally lunch time and I was ecstatic.

I was starving.

I was going to go to the cafeteria until I realized I had food.

I went to the music room which I had 2nd period and looked around to see no one inside the room. I closed the doors, looking at all the instruments and settling at the 'Steinway Alma Tadema' piano. "Of course they have a 1.2 million dollar piano."

I took out my spicy nacho Doritos and my black bean burger and got ready to eat until a beautiful idiot came striding through the doors. "Thank you for being at the third place I checked." He said, coming closer to me, sitting down next to me.

"Hey, why aren't you with your friends?" I questioned as to why no one was here but him.

"They were talking about something. They might come later though." He dismissed, his hands on the piano, playing each key.

"I'd like to say I'm pretty good, right?" He smirked.

"Definitely. You play like Beethoven." I rolled my eyes, giggling at his commentary.

"Don't insult me like that! I'm at least 100x better!" He gasped, putting a hand to his heart, pretending to act hurt.

"Right, right I'm sorry. Do you want me to play a specific song?" I asked, wiping my hands of Dorito powder and putting hand sanitizer on.

"Oh! Play 'Starboy' by The Weeknd!" He giggled.

"I love that song!" I say, as I start pressing the keys.

I loved this song so much I remembered the lyrics and know the all the keys by memory so I just sang, playing the piano, looking at Nick who had a surprised look on his face.

"...Look what you've done,
I'm a motherfuckin starboy."

Suddenly we hear claps at the end of the room. We turn our heads to see Amir and Kai clapping, small smiles on their faces. I wave back, smiling.

They make their way towards me, "No wonder you got the scholarship, you are fucking amazing!" Amir smirked, patting my head.

"Okay well, we have class in ten minutes and I have no idea where to go. Mind showing me?" I raise a brow.

"What class?" Kai raises a dark brown brow.

"Mandarin," I sigh, already dreading it.

"I have Mandarin too, let's go." Kai nodded at the door as the bell rang.

We walked into the hallway and other kids flooded the halls, staring at Kai and I.

That rhymes!

"Also, just warning you, the teacher is an ass. She doubts everyone so when she asks a question to the class, try to know the answer before she calls on anyone. We had a scholarship student that was a junior last year and she picked on him until he decided to leave the school." Kai rolled his eyes, walking into the huge classroom, choosing the seats in the middle, people making way for him.

"Thanks for the heads up," I say, taking the seat next to him. These seats were so fucking comfortable, I suddenly could fall asleep in a second.

"Hello class, we are starting off with a quiz to see what level you are." A white lady with blonde hair and red lips said as she passed a paper to each person, winking when she passed Kai.

"Why the fuck did she wink at you?" I whispered, disgusted as to why a mid 30 year old lady would do that. To a fucking minor.

He just shrugged, looking down at his paper and pulling out a expensive as fuck pen.

Damn. I'd let that fuck me.

Jokes, jokes.

I pulled out my lead pencil from 'paper mate'. I quickly did the sheet, looking up at Kai who was reviewing his work.

Now insecure about my work, I went back to double check, finding no mistakes I head to the front, giving the teacher my work.

"So, your the scholarship student," She raised a brow, "Are you sure you're done?"

"Yea." I nodded, "I even double checked."

She just rolled her eyes, waving for me to leave and she took out a expensive red pen. It started gliding over my paper, making signs that I couldn't interpret since I was too far away. She glared at me after grading the paper, putting it to the side.

Guess I got a good grade.

Kai handed the paper a few seconds later, the teachers expression changing from a scowl to a fake smile.

When he got back to the desk, he kept saying random facts that I replied by giving him a smile or a 'I understand' even though I had no idea what the fuck he was talking about.

At least he was warming up to me.

At least he was warming up to me

I love Kai.

If you could play the piano, what song would you love to play?
