It's been nearly 3 years since Natasha and Bucky got together and nearly 2 years since they got married, everything felt nice, everything felt normal. Bucky unlocked the door to their new life together and Natasha walked in holding baby Violet in her arms. Bucky unloaded the truck but tries to disguise his metal arm and only tried to carry things that only normal men were capable of carrying. The sofa came in and so did the old recliner, the double bed and the crib went up the stairs. Bucky started bringing in boxes labelled kitchen utensils and books and DVD. He then went to pick up the single bed on his own but Natasha snapped at him,

"JAMES!" Her voice echoed along the empty hallways.

Bucky stopped and let the movers take it. He walked in the house and picked up Violet,

"You can't just go around picking up our extra bed all by yourself. We need to act like everyone else here. Look!" Natasha pointed over the road and watched their neighbours outside having a barbecue on the beautiful summers day. Their life looked perfect in every single way, "you see, They are normal. Now, take this box inside and take it to Violet's room." Natasha walked in the house and into the living room, Bucky follows.

Bucky took the box and hands Violet to Natasha. He started doing that thing he does, he started repeating himself under his breath, reminding himslef of all the bad things he had done, he does this when he is stressed out or doesn't know what to do. Natasha saw him doing it so she held onto his metal arm, snapping him out of his trance. Bucky carried the box to the bathroom and Natasha put their daughter in her playpen and goes to help unload the boxes. Many boxes were full of memories but none of Natasha and Bucky together, just Steve and Bucky. James took the box up into Violet's room and started unpacking. Nappies, baby powder, clothes, everything was there.

Natasha sat down on the sofa, staring out the window, watching her neighbours. She didn't like how perfect they were, she didn't like how normal she was. She started to twitch, her body started shaking. Tears ran down her face. Normal life isn't for people like Natasha or Bucky, it wasn't what they were made for. Bucky liked being normal because that what he was used to, he liked living a basic life without any drama and without and missions, he like his small family and he liked his home. He loved Violet and he loved Natasha, sometimes

Natasha didn't act like herself anymore, she was very stressed and a uncomfortable around the house. She didn't really help much unpacking the boxes and never stopped looking out the window. She thought someone was watching her. James starred at her, something just wasn't right, she was different. She had changed. S.H.I.E.L.D. was no more so that meant no more missions for The Black Widow and that meant normal life. Natasha had never really experienced normal life before and she was becoming a new person, someone Bucky didn't like. Bucky had made a positive change in his life, he no longer worked for HYDRA and her had memories of his past and what he did in the Second World War. He knew about Steve, he knew about his fellow howling commandos and he knew about Captain America. James Buchanan Barnes. He was no longer The Winter Soldier. Their daughter, Violet, was turning 1 in a week and they wanted all their friends to join them for the party, even Clint. Natasha and Clint had a past but Bucky didn't mind that, he wanted to make friend with everyone. Violet was a clever girl and already new how to sneak up on people, her mother taught her that, she also knew how to walk. Her favourite thing to say was arm, she was obsessed with her father's metal arm. However, Bucky hated it, he hated the fact that arm was his daughter's first and only word. He also hated how he never got to know how he died, no one told him, not even Steve.

The house was nearly done, only 3 boxes to go, they were only kitchen supplies and Violets toys. James unpacked the last of the things and the movers van left the family. They were finally alone. No more orders, no more strangers, just them. Bucky liked that, he liked being with the family, his family. Natasha liked being the so called housewife and liked cooking. Violet liked crawling around he new oak wood flooring and climbing up the cushioned carpet up the twisted stairs. The day was finally over, James finally took off his jacket and let his arm get some air, Natasha could finally put down her loaded gun and Violet could finally have a nap. Their life wasn't perfect but it was good. That's how they liked it, good.
