Chapter 9 [End]

Aesop's arms wrapped around Eli's waist, his body trembling and tears streaming down his sweet face. What did he just say ? Was he hearing correctly ? He was talking about the time before the accident, which meant... he remembered ? Was it because of the kiss ? Honestly, it didn't really matter. What mattered was that he was finally back. Emily arrived after hearing the commotion. When she heard the news, she couldn't help but shed a tear as well. Everything was finally going back to its original course...

"Eli... You're not going to leave me behind, are you ?"

"Well, I haven't got an answer yet so-"

"What if I tell you...?"

The two men were sitting on Aesop's bed. The latter then approached the diviner and passed his arms around his neck to bring his face closer to his and seal his lips with a kiss. This time, it was not to fill an endless space. No, it conveyed to him all his passion and his love repressed in the depths of his being during all this time. Eli passed his arms around his waist to bring him back even closer to him. They exchanged many kisses as if to make up for all those they had before. They only broke away when their breath ran out and their faces were completely red from the burning feeling.

"Stay with me..."

"But... if something happens to you again I-"

"I'm sure you'll come and get me out of this darkness again..."

Aesop grabbed Eli's face with his two hands and pressed his forehead to his, his gray eyes meeting his bright blue ones.

"I won't let you go."

He laughed and kissed his embalmer, his florist, his love... Nothing could separate them now...

Several months went by after all this drama. The first thing they did was invite Emily over for a meal to thank her for everything she did. If she hadn't been there, maybe Aesop wouldn't have been there at all. During this time, they sometimes saw some of their old friends from the manor, such as Helena and Servais. They would have liked to see all of them again but they were all in such distant places from each other and they also preferred to stay together in this small town.

One year passed. Eli wanted to help Aesop in some way other than helping out in the store, so he opened his own detective business. He didn't get many serious cases and spent most of his time saving the widow and the orphan, but he was happy to do so and those he helped always rewarded him in the end. When he came home late at night, Aesop was always there to greet him and shower him with kisses, which immediately revived his energy every time.

"How was your day ?"

"Just the usual ~"

Eli put his arms around Aesop and the latter returned his gesture. One could see a golden ring embellishing his beautiful hand. The seer then took this same hand in his and brought it to his lips with a charming smile, his cheeks pink. He had never been as happy as they both were now.

"Have I told you how much I love you ?"

"A thousand times..."

"Really ? I still don't think that's enough though ~"

"How about a change for once ?"

"Hm ?"

"I love you Eli."

"I love you too..."
