Chapter 8;Be careful what you wish for

The next day was taking too long to come for Ericah.She couldn't even sleep.She lay awake lying on her bed as she thought about what will happen if their teacher agrees and mostly how she certainly was going to get Mrs.Yacks to like him.He was a handsome too so may be it will be easy or what if he wasn't her type.Oh GOD what have I done.Well however she will do it she will figure It tomorrow.She didn't know when she fell asleep but she woke up the next day feeling some great amount of light falling on her face.She woke up to see her dad holding the curtain remote.
"Hey there sweetie he said sitting on the bed to plant a kiss on her fore head"
"Hey there dad.Isn't it too early for you to be here"she asked.
"Yeah babe but I have to fly out of town for a while so I won't be able around for your birthday on Saturday but I have something for you".he pulled a parcel from behind him.
She didn't even notice him holding the parcel she wondered how she didn't see that but mostly she had forgotten about her seventeenth birthday.Guess she was busy with all the things going on that she forgot.
"Wow dad what is it"she asked
"Open it"he replied.
She hurriedly open and it was a jewel boxe.
"Woow dad am short of words'she exclaimed as she opens the box.
It was a seven karat diamond  necklace or more than that,She didn't really have to be counting the karats.
He took it and wore it around her neck.
"Wow you look magnificent babe"her mum said entering the room.
She walked over to her mirror and looked at her reflection in the mirror.She was just stunning.
"Babey now I think you might just be competing with me in jewelleries "her mum said and they all laughed.
"Oh and you can have a party of you want.you know invite a few friends"
"Baby I have to go"his father said walking over to her to kiss her on the forehead and happy birthday in advance"
She was still staring at her reflection in the mirror.She forgot that she had to go to school.
Her mum came in two minutes later.
"Aren't you going to be late for school"she asked standing at the Door way.
"Yeah school ooh I totally forgot.She hurriedly went to take a shower and within ten minutes she was in the car being driven by Bright her chauffeur.There was traffic on the road
.blame it on New York for being such a busy city every day,People trying to get their  work places,students trying to get to school,other people trying to get where ever they were going to but that was least of her problems now.Mr.Allen hadn't yet given his answer and today was that day.But what was I thinking when I asked him to train she thought to herself.why do I even want to be a spy.the question kept ringing in her mind that she didn't even notice when they got to school.

"We are here miss.Amell"Bright said opening the Door for her to get out.
Bright was the chauffeur the butler and sometimes daddy's assistant in the house.He handled daddy's business and most of the times run the house like hire the staff and other things that she didn't need.He knew her since she was a kid and they had been good acquaintance.For a man as old as his age he should be retired but God knows why he isn't.Apparently he has been working for daddy for twenty-five years.
Ericah stepped out of the car
"How many times have I told you to call me by name first she said smiling"
"Old habits never die he said closing the Door after she got out.Have a nice day Miss.Amell sorry  i mean Ericah he quickly changed his statement.
"You too Bright"she said as she walked towards the front door.
She had mathematics as first period so she quickly went to class.
JB was already in class.
"Hey there JB she greeted as she sat in one of the chairs.
He ignored her and continued to typing on his phone.
" Well I need to talk you so you could please pay attention to me"
He still ignores her and continues typing.
"I heard kassim left the team,now you and I know nobody won that match so I need you to convince him to join the team again"
He looks at her "now why would I want to do that it was obvious your boyfriend already made up his mind"

"That's why I'm telling you  to ask him to return,he will listen to you if you apologise."
"Am not doing that,clearly you don't know who you are talking to"JB replied.
"Hey don't forget you didn't win.it was a tie "
"Yeah nobody will believe if you go around spreading that"
"Luckily I have a video to prove that "she replied removing her phone from her pocket.Imagine what this will do to you. Everyone will know you are a liar and you won't be the captain of the basketball team again"

"What are you going to do with that"he asked this time sitting upright and gaining her attention.
"I don't know maybe leak the video or you know what to do"
"Okay he said but just don't leak that or the team won't trust me again.
"Whatever just get him back into the team"
At the end of her statement the siren rang and the class began to fill up with students.
"Ooh and we are meeting Mr.Allen today incase you are interested in coming "
Their conversation ended when the teacher entered the class.
For the next one hour she wasn't paying attention to the teacher then unfortunately for her the teacher called her to answer a question.
"Mrs.Amell would you mind telling us the answer"the teacher asked again.Kassim was whispering something to her but she wasn't even paying attention to him.
She was about answering when the siren rang.
"Saved by the bell Mrs.Amell I want you all to go and read page 356" and she walked out of the classroom.
Kassim came to sit on her table.where was you mind B he asked.
"B you haven't called me that in months She said rather surprised.
"What happened" he asked changing the topic.
"I don't know guess I was lost in thought"
"Kassim and Ericah you are wanted in the English class"Hope said walking into the class.
"Do you know what for"she asked trying to get some information before going.
"Not really,Mr.Allen just asked me to get you"
"Okay thanks Hope"she replied and they made their way to the class.
When they got there Ferdinand and Daniel were already there.
"Have a seat Mrs.Amell and Mr.Curry"he told them.
They sat down like some puppets being controlled by their master.
"I have thought about what you said and I think I will do it but this comes with a lot of responsibility and one you may have to pay the price if you screw up"
"Yes Ericah shouted smiling
JB entered the class looking for kassim.
"Oh Mr.Bryant you are welcomed to join "Mark said looking at JB.
"Join what exactly "he asked looking confused.
"Mr.Allen has agreed to teach us what he knows about spy stuff "Daniel answered from the back.
"Oh cool but I didn't come here for that.I just wanted to speak to kassim.you know what why don't we just finish and we can talk later"JB said.
"Quick question Mr.Allen do we get cool weapons and stuff"Ferdinand questioned him.
"Yes and No,am just teaching you the basics and who knows I can mention you to HQ after your final test"
"Teeesssstt! they all screamed surprised
"Yes there will be a test to prove whether you are learning what I will be teaching you and who ever fails well I don't need to tell you what happens after that"
They all kept quiet as he spoke.
"So see you back here on Saturday at 8:00am and don't be late"
"Saturday but that's my birthday and I will be having a party"
"Really Kassim asked
"Yeah dad told me to throw a party I will tell you all about it later"she replied.
"Well Mrs.Amell you will have to prioritise.No more questions and you maybe dismissed"he finally ended.
They all stood up and left.
Kassim can I talk to you JB said after they got out.
"What do you want "he replied coldly.
"I want you to come back to the team and am sorry for making you quit"
"Eerm thanks for the offer but no thanks. I have made up my mind and I don't want change it"
"Are you stupid or something I'm asking you to come back and look at what you are telling me.you know what fine don't come ,I don't care and he turns his back to leave.He stands there rooted to the spot as he remembers what Ericah says..
" I'm going to leak this video and who knows what it will do to your reputation and you may even loose the captain's position "
"Look just come back to the team and I'm sorry for the rudeness" he apologizes "you are one hell of a shooter and the team could really use "

"Really" Kassim said rather surprised.If that's what you want.This isn't like you to apologize "
"Yeah whatever don't get all emotional on me"
"And we are back to The JB we all know"he rather said sarcastically
He left him and went his seperate way.By then all the boys had left leaving Ericah standing near the lockers.
"So a party huh he said"
"Yeah dad I said I can throw a party if I wanted and I don't think mum will be around so the house is all mine"
"Except with the butler and all the maid"Kassim replied jokingly.
"Huh who knew you were such a comedian.So will you come?"
"Of course I  wouldnt miss it for anything in the world"
