I ring the doorbell and not even a second later, it is pushed open by none other than Elijah.

"Elijah." I say and hug him briefly.

"Hey, man. How're you?" he asks and moves to the side to give me space to enter.

"I'm all good, you?" I answer and start to walk beside him.

"Peachy. Here to pick up your date?" he asks slyly.

"Why else would I be here?" I joke causing him to chuckle.

"She's almost done. Just a heads up though, she looks gorgeous." He tells as we stop at the entrance of the kitchen.

"When does she not?"

"You've got a point." He shrugs and I go inside to greet Savannah and Adam who were cooking side by side.

"Hey, guys."

They both turn around and Savannah squeals in delight, "Oh, my boy looks so handsome in a tux."

She engulfs in a gentle hug which I return with a big grin plastered on my face.

"Congratulations, you just boosted his ego." Elijah remark.

"Wait till your sister does that." I retort making everyone chuckle and go to hug Adam.

He pulls away a second later and gives a fatherly smile, "You're treating her right."

I nod my head slowly, "I am trying."

"That's all I ask of you."

I smile at him in reassurance and we hear a soft thud of the door followed by the clicks of heels against the marble floor.

I walk out of the kitchen, followed by everyone behind me, and halt in my tracks as soon as I look at her.

This girl will never cease to amaze me.

She is dressed in an iridescent silver colored gown with her hair falling on her back in waves. The dress is bringing out her sparkling eyes even more and the way it is accentuating her figure has my heartbeat accelerating. She pushes a few locks back and looks up, our eyes meeting in that moment, and she smiles shyly at me before a small frown replaces it.
