And just like that, everything changed. At that terrible moment, in our hearts, we knew. Home was a pen. Humanity, cattle.

"Where's the sacrilege now, huh? Or does your philosophy say it's wrong to fight back too?"

A young blonde boy grunted as his body was forced against the brick structure of a home. "As a matter of fact it does. I'd take a few lumps than brawl like a beast."

The older boy sneered and tightened his grip on the blonde boy's shirt. "Oh, so now I'm a beast?"

Behind the older boy, two other boys restrained a raven haired girl. "Leave him alone!" She pleaded. She struggled to free herself but the other boys' grips on her wrist were forcing her to remain in place.

"Shut up, brat!" One of the boys kicked the back of the girl's leg cause her to wince and nearly crumble to the ground. The two boys threw their heads back, arrogant fits of laughed emanating from the mouths.

"Your fight's with me. Let her go!" The young boy demanded.

"Ha! Make us!" The third boy challenged.

"Back off!"

All the kids turned their heads. Coming at them was a young brunette boy, sprinting with anger in his eyes. The three bullies readied themselve, prepared to face their next victim.

"It's Eren!"

"Hey, lookie here! Back for more?"

"You'd think he would have learned his lesson."

"Give this one to me."

Then their eyes wided in surprise. From behind Eren, another raved haired girl was sprinting at too speed, staring daggers at the three boys.

"Oh crap. She's with him." One of the boys cried.

"Run! Just run!" The boys turned and bolted.

Eren came to a halt, watching in triumph. "Heh-heh. That's all it takes. One look. I'm just that scary."

"Well, one of you is." The blonde boy replied. He struggled to stand up, get halfway before almost collapsing.

Eren and the first raven girl ran to help him. "Where'd they get you, Armin?" Eren asked.

Armin hesitated to answer. "It's alright. Thank you."

The girl grabbed his arm. "Are you sure? He shoved you pretty hard."

"I'm sure."

"Okay." Eren said, uncertainly.

The girl who arrived with Eren turned the the other girl. "What about you, Yuna? Are you hurt?"

Yuna rubbed her wrists. "I'm okay. Thanks, Mikasa."

The four friends walked through their home. All was peaceful and a gently breeze was blowing. Birds flew up above while people mingled below.

"What was that all about?" Eren asked, as he and his frineds sat by a river that ran through the district.

"Oh, they just heard me rattling on about how mankind's future lay beyond the walls." Armin replied.

"I tried to stop one of them but his two idiot friends held me back." Yuna sighed.

"Why's it gotta be this way?" Eren threw a pebble into the water. "Why can't people just let us dream?"
