The film had ended and Bolin offered to drive them to the place they left the car. But Korra and Asami had other plans. It was a nice starry night, so they decided to go walking to the car.
The couple was getting near the restaurant where they could see their car in the park all alone, it was nearly one in the morning. The cinema wasn't far from the restaurant just like 8 blocks, but both girls where so lost in each others eyes that they forgot about the time. Anyone who saw them could tell they were lost in love. But suddenly, before crossing the street to the car, a 6 year old boy begged for help.
"Please, could you please give me some food. Me and my sister haven't eat since yesterday".
The young couple where concerned as they exchanged sights. They weren't sure if the boy was lying or not, because he was well dressed.
"I know from my aspect it seems I'm lying, but... Follow me please, here is my sister"- said again the boy realizing that the two women weren't responding.
"What do you think, is he lying?"- whispered Asami.
"I don't know for sure, but I think he is not. Let's go"- said Korra grabbing Asami's hand while following the boy.
"Here, she is sleeping but...."-said the boy when Korra interrupted him.
"Where are your parents?".
Immediately the boy glanced to her sister to make sure she was still asleep, he didn't want her to see he was hurt, that would devastate her. The only thing who kept her going was his cheerfulness. Then he sighed and said almost crying -" We're from Ba Sing Se, our mum just passed away on an accident, our house burned because of some equalists. Fortunately, my mom took me and my sister fast enough, but she couldn't make it"- he explained.
"Oh my god"- said Asami putting pressure on her girlfriends hand.
"What about your dad?"- asked Korra while caressing Asami.
"Well he divorced from our mum when my sister was born so he abandoned us, and he moved here to marry a
non-bender"-he answered, containing his emotions as hard as he could.
"So let's find him"- said the Avatar.
"A-actually we talked to him yesterday, b-but he th-throw us to the street, j-just because h-he started a new l-life"- said the boy braking in tears.
Asami, who was very touched by the boy story, almost in tears she kneel down to hug the boy and said-" Don't worry Darling, we will help you"- and turning her head back said-" Korra go get the car". She parked the car right in front of Asami, she did it as fast as she could. Asami sat in the driver seat, the boy sat behind her still sobbing and Korra sat next to Asami carrying the little sleeping girl.
On the trip home, Asami called to the mansion and ordered a butler to cook some noodles and prepare two beds, meanwhile Korra questioned the boy.
"So what are your names?".
"I'm Kuruk"- he said while drying his tears-"And she is Kyouko".
"Kuruk!"- said Korra remembering the name-" That's the name of the the last Water bender Avatar, before me".
"Yes, actually my mum was from the South Pole and the Avatar Kuruk was her grandmother grandfather, so he name me after that"- said Kuruk, but suddenly he recalled the woman's words and said-" Wait what?! You are Avatar Korra?".
"Yes, that's me"- she said with a big smile.
"Gosh! My mom was so grateful to you, when you saved us from the poverty we were living and then Kuvira".
"Haha thanks, that's actually my job as the Avatar"- she liked the boy so she wanted to hear more from him.
"So Kuruk, If your mom was from the South Pole, why did you live in Ba Sing Se?"
"Well as you know, my father likes adventure. When I was smaller he would always tell me the story how he met my mother".
"Aha"- nodded Korra. Asami was silent paying attention to both the kid and the road.
"When he was younger he wanted to travel the world, get out from the big walls of the city. Oh he is an earth bender. Eventually he did, he visited all of the nations. One day he got to the Pole and met my mother, a water bender, he fell in love and as she also liked new things, she went on a trip with him. Finally, she married him and stayed in Ba Sing Se".
"Wow amazing story"- said Asami.
"Thanks, Oh but my mom always missed her home and my dad was always out of the country, that's the reason why they argued so much"- he explained.
"I'm sorry to hear that"-said Asami-" But we arrived, there's some food for you inside".
