I'm a demon. I live alone. It was my home. I didn't have anywhere else to go. I lived in a cave, mostly reading fantasies and things I enjoyed looking at, like herbs and plants. I found it intriguing to do one of these myself but never had the courage and patience to.
I read one that caught my eye, it was called Echinacea and it's used to treat influenza or the flu. The way it worked seemed so incredible, it reminded me of how I wanted to become a doctor when I was little.
'I wish I could remember when I was human.'
I was yanked out of my thoughts and imagination when I heard a strange noise at the entrance of my cave that was dripped in the rain since it had been pouring earlier outside. I wonder what that was.
I got up, not making a sound, which in doing so swayed my (short/long) (hair/color) locks swing to the side. With each step I took, I got closer to the scent of blood that was filling my senses. I saw a human boy at my entrance, practically drenched in mist and his own blood. Unconcious. I ran over to him in concern but noticing he has a Demon Slayer uniform on.
'...He's one of them...'
He looks like he's a boy a few years older than me. Not by that much in human years. Then again, he could still be a killer. I brushed some of his wet hair out of his face to see he looked not that menacing. Rather kinder.
'... I'll take this one chance. If it goes wrong, that's on my sorry ass.'
I picked him up and brought him inside to my guest room, surrounded by herbs and plants to make it look decorative. I knew he would get the bed wet but that wasn't my main focus. I didn't mind it anyway. I grabbed everything I needed to save him from bleeding out. String, verdure, needles, anything.
His body wasn't as tense as before since I had healed him. I was pretty proud of myself. My first patient. His arms and forehead were bandaged with stitches underneath. I closed the door and let him sleep as the rainfall slowed down and soon became a drizzle. I returned to my quiet space on the floor with my book, having a smile plastered on my face.
The sweet smell of the rain outside flooded the cave, it smelled like something gentle. That's just what I needed to make me drowsy and fall asleep on my book, being peaceful for once.
