< CHAPTER ONE >

WE MEET AGAIN

It's the dead of winter.

Soft flurries of ice and water rain down from the grey clouds.

It has been a few months, everything seemed to be going great. Tanjiro eventually came and visited you more often. You two eventually grew closer as the days passed. He couldn't visit you as much in the winter since the mountain you lived on had thick snow. Kure eventually became a demon slayer. He had gone on several missions and eventually grew to the environment of what demons are. The sad thing is, with all of the snow on the mountain it's hard to stay warm. This is why you get firewood most of the time if you go out.

YOUR POV

The snow is so deep here. It might be kind of pestering at times.

Never mind that. This woodpile is getting massive. It should last me this whole wintertime though, which is a bonus. Believe it or not, it's not that easy to find wood in this place. I live in a forest with oversized bushes, scarcely any trees.

I must say, it's a lovely winter.

SECOND POV

It's rather funny how things can get drastic in a couple of moments. While you were walking through the white fluffy ground. Someone was up in the trees, watching your every move from above, but you weren't able to tell who it was. There was one other that you could sense from far away though.

A small child was running through the thick layers of ice. He was running behind multiple trees which is why you couldn't see him well. The person in the tree was watching you closely without realizing it. The sync of panting, snapping, and crunching filled the empty land.

Then it stopped.

Everything went silent, it was like the world froze.

You smelled another person, his scent smelled somewhat familiar.

The next thing you knew, your face had grown cold. You fell face front in the snow. The firewood was scatted from tree to tree, how hard did you fall? How far did you fall? You couldn't stand up. It didn't feel like anything was weighing you down but it felt so light at the same time. You didn't like this at all.
