I WAS uncomfortable, mildly uncomfortable. Klaus invited Marcel and his gang of vampires. I hated Marcel with everything thickness of my heart.

My sister taught me and my family to love others but in this certain circumstances I couldn't do it. Marcel killed the only real family I had. He killed my mother and my father and my stepmom.

A dinner table is set up in the yard and Marcel's closest people are gathered around it. Klaus calls for everyone's attention to give a speech by tapping his cup with a fork.

"Let us begin with a toast to our shared gift: immortality. After a thousand years, one might expect life to be less keenly felt, for its beauties and its sorrows do diminish with time. But, as vampires, we feel more deeply than humans could possibly imagine."

Klaus gestures toward a group of waiters and waitresses to have them join them at the table, one for each guest. I sat there in the seat, uncomfortable and I sat with my ice cold water.

"Insatiable need, exquisite pain..."  Klaus dragged out and I was disgusted by what Klaus was making these poor nurses do. I wanted to slap him or hurt him but from how much I wanted to do it, it wasn't a option.

The servants slit their wrists with knives, filling the cups with blood for the vampires. I looked away from the scene because to my amusement, I hate blood.

"Our victories, and our defeats." Klaus looks at Marcel. I saw that Marcel didn't look to happy with the arrangement that Klaus and him had but quickly he changes it to a smile for the guests.

"To my city, my home again. May the blood never cease to flow..." Klaus clinks his glass with Marcel.

"...and the party never end!" Marcel yells while clinking Klaus glass again and everyone cheered which made me internally cringe. I was very uncomfortable in my seat and sweaty due to hormones.

Everyone yelled, "To New Orleans!" They all laughed and seemed like they were happy in my eyes. I got up from my seat to go to the bathroom.

I knew it caught eyes but I didn't care, I ran to to the bathroom. I sat on the toilet and did my business. I washed my hands and then entered back into the room and sat down on the chair.

They glared at me and I glared back. I moved over in my chair over because I was ready to protect my baby.

"I understand that some of you may have questions regarding the recent change in leadership, and I invited you here tonight to assure you that you are not defeated. No, my intentions moving forward are to celebrate what we have. What Marcel, in fact, took and built for this true community of vampires. " He smiled and lied. I knew he was saying this to only win over the crowd.

"What about her? The wolf." He points towards me. Even though most people don't know about my halfbreed status, I was highly offended anyway.

"Had you'd let me finish, Diego, you would know that there is, of course, one further matter I would like to address. As many of you know, the girl is carrying my child. Consequently, I trust you will all pay her the appropriate respect. However, I understand that some of you are concerned by this vicious rumor that I intend to use the blood of our child to create hybrids. I assure you I do not." He says to the rest of the table holding the back of my chair in his hands.
