Klaus and Elijah sit opposite each other in the living room, both reading. Klaus is reading "A Poison Tree" by William Blake, and Elijah is reading one of his mother's grimoires. A dead girl lays on the coffee table as they listen to classical music. After a moment, Rebekah enters
"So, this is what you do the first time we're back together as a family? Vampire book club?" Rebekah says to them and they continued to read.
"Reading edifies the mind, sister. Isn't that right, Elijah?" Elijah looks at Klaus and then back at his book.
"Yes, that's quite right, Niklaus." Elijah says and continues to read.
"And what's this business?" Rebekah points to the dead girl who's blood drips on the carpet.
"This is a..... peace offering," Elijah tells Rebekah.
"I presumed, after so much time desiccating in a coffin, that my big brother might be a bit peckish." Klaus chuckled.
"And I explained to my little brother, that forgiveness cannot be bought. I'd simply prefer to see a change in behavior that indicates contrition, and personal growth." Elijah looks at the girl while Klaus feels guilty.
"Not this nonsense." Elijah says, "Well, I couldn't very well let her go to waste, could I?" Klaus grins at Elijah.
"Well, I suppose I'll go fetch the rubbish bin, because she's staining a two hundred-year-old carpet." Rebekah says angrily and stomps off.
Elijah looks up from his book to see the girl bleeding out onto the table, where the blood drips onto the floor
"Ah, yes." Elijah says.
🖤
I woke up with my feet aching and my head pounding. Jenni was drooling over the pillow still asleep.
I went downstairs to the kitchen with a hand on my pregnant belly. I saw a bleeding dead girl and immediately made my way to the kitchen. I felt Klaus look at me and I felt weirded out so I slipped into the kitchen.
Hayley was there talking to a guy on her phone.
"Hayls, who's that?" She smiled at me excited.
"My boyfriend David." I smiled at her and hugged her.
Klaus watches Elijah set down the grimoire and follow me into the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Elijah finds me making myself breakfast, and me looking through the fridge. Elijah leans in the doorway
"Good morning" He smiled at me which I smiled back.
"Hey" I say to him and then I looked in the fridge to find no milk.
Rebekah enters through the back door, dragging a trashcan behind her
"Listen, I know I'm the only one in this house that actually drinks milk, but would it kill any of you to make sure it's on the grocery list?" I say sightly annoyed.
"Speaking of, add bleach." stomps through the kitchen and into the living room to clean up the mess.
Elijah started to dig through the cupboards and while I grab some Rocky Road icecream. This ice cream survived breakups and my sisters death. This might be not be the healthiest habit but I got to have it, you know.
"You know, I do hope my siblings were hospitable to you, in my absence." He said as I got a spoon out of the drawer and about to open the lid.
"In your absence, as you like to call it, which is a way-too-polite way of saying that your brother put a dagger in your heart.. I have been attacked by French Quarter vampires, I've had to live in a house with a secret dungeon full of coffins, and I was nearly murdered by witches who are convinced my baby is Lucifer." I say to him. I opened the lid and started to put my spoon in the icecream to eat it.
Elijah smiles sympathetically as he pulls orange juice and milk out of the fridge, pours me a bowl of cereal, and then fills it with milk.
"Oh...milk. They've been fine. Your siblings are weirdly protective, I know I have you to thank for that." I looked up at his handsome face from the counter and smiled.
"I'm just happy to see that you're in one piece. So, back to the murderous witches. I have some concerns." He says handing me my bowl of cereal. I thanked him, and grabbed my cereal.
"They're evil. And, my life is still magically linked to Sophie Deveraux, which is not comforting." I say with my mouth full of cereal. I never felt this uncomfortable about my own life before and I have fought off the evilest banshees to ever exist.
"Yes, I think it's time we took care of that little problem."I nodded. Rebekah came back in with the dead girls body and she started dragging her across the floor.
"I am all for it. As soon as they're unlinked, we get to leave this crap town. Who do we have to kill?" Rebekah has a mischievous grin on her grin after she said that and it made me shudder in disgust.
Elijah stays silent for a moment before speaking, "Probably no one." I looked at him in question.
"Alright, potentially everyone." I sighed.
