THREE YEARS FROM NOW
DAMON SALVATORE STARED AT THE VARIOUS of drawings on the fridge. Alaric Saltzman, Lucas Hastings and Jace Hastings were behind him, watching the Salvatore carefully. Caroline Forbes and Lucas Hastings decided to move to Dallas, Texas with Alaric Saltzman so the blonde vampire could be there for him and the kids. A year ago, Olivia Mikaelson joined them and down the road so did Jace Hastings, he had helped the blonde hybrid with her own kids. They were next door neighbors but occasionally everyone would hang out at the Saltzman/ Forbes household. The five of them were normal—as normal supernaturals could be.
Lucas popped the question to Caroline to which she accepted, and the twins love him. Of course, they wouldn't replace Alaric as their dad. Caroline, Lucas and Alaric have managed a system in co-parenting the girls.
Whenever Olivia and Caroline were at work, the Mikaelson hybrid takes her kids to stay with Alaric and Lucas. It wasn't that she didn't trust Jace, she just felt more comfortable if her kids were supervised with three adults seeing as they were tribrids and if word got around, people would come seeking for Olivia.
"What the hell do you want Damon?" Jace spoke, folding his arms across his chest not understanding why after three years the Salvatore decided to find them, specifically Olivia and her kids.
"When's the last time you talked to your fiancé?" Damon asked, pointing to the two Hasting vampires, mainly at Jace.
Jace raised his eyebrows in surprise, "I see world travels fast. She texted earlier today, why?"
"What time was it, and what'd she say?" Damon demanded, needing more clarification. He was worried for his friend—the mother of Stefan's kids.
Jace pulled out his phone and went to his messages with Olivia before reading them out loud. "12:58—do we need anything from the store."
Damon pointed to the clock that was hanging from the wall, "Well, she's not answering her phone right now."
"She and Caroline don't like answering their phone before broadcast." Lucas spoke up, he looked at Alaric giving him a look. The Saltzman nodded his head, exiting the room to put the girls to sleep.
"I don't care. Get her on the horn. Stefan's being hunted again and it's only a matter of time before Olivia's the bait that's used to lure him out." Damon explained before looking at Jace, "I don't need the mother of my brother's kids being used as bait."
"Move." Jace sent him a glare, before his eyes focused on the television screen in front of them. The vampire brushed past Damon, his eyes trained on the television.
"We apologize for the interruption to your current program. My name is Olivia, I am a segment producer for KQBC News." Olivia spoke, her eyes trained on the camera that was recording her. Damon, Jace and Lucas watched the broadcast in horror seeing the blood dripping from her forehead, "Please listen carefully. I have an urgent message for Stefan Salvatore."
