✨ Chapter: Imperfect Perfection ✨
As Evangelina and her family apparated into King's Cross Station, she immediately took in the bustling scene: parents tearfully saying goodbye, and first-years clinging nervously to trunks and owls, wide-eyed and overwhelmed. Evangelina, now entering her fifth year at Hogwarts, stood beside her fraternal twin, Karla. The two Veela sisters had been eagerly awaiting their return to school all summer — anything to escape another suffocating day at the manor, filled with piano lessons, etiquette training, and constant comments from their mother about posture and weight.
"I want each and every one of you to behave," their mother, Selena, said stiffly. "You represent the Leclair name. Evangelina, Karla, Melanie — watch your weight. No carbs. Candy is restricted. I'm looking at you, Evangelina. We don't need a repeat of what happened last time, do we?"
Evangelina's hands began to tremble. Her mother's face was expressionless, but the memory behind her words made Evangelina's stomach churn. Karla, sensing the shift in her twin, quickly reached out and took her hand. She had witnessed it all — the way their mother dragged Evangelina to the basement bathroom and forced her to vomit until she passed out. Karla hadn't slept for weeks after that.
"Yes, Mother," Evangelina said dryly. "I'll be sure to starve myself if I see the scale move."
Selena nodded in approval, already moving on to talk about Evangelina's modeling prospects and how they'd arranged with Dumbledore for special leaves for photoshoots. As her mother prattled on, Evangelina's eyes wandered, landing on a mother and daughter wrapped in a tearful hug. The daughter whispered, "I love you," and the mother kissed her forehead.
Evangelina looked away quickly.
The train hooted. "Well, this is goodbye until the holidays," Selena said. "Evangelina, do not fail me this time."
Evangelina didn't reply — she just nodded and tugged Karla toward their usual compartment, where their friends Coralline and Alex would be waiting.

Hand in hand, the twins made their way through the corridor, searching for their friends, when Evangelina bumped into a familiar redhead.
"Hello, Lily! How are you? It's been so long!" she said with a smile.
"Eva! Kar!" Lily grinned, pulling both girls into a hug. "You have to tell me all about your su—"
"Lily-flower," came a familiar voice behind her, "you look angelic as always. How was your summer?"
Lily whirled around, already scolding James Potter as the twins watched with amused expressions.
"We'll catch up after the feast," Karla told Lily. "Seems like you've got your hands full."
With a shared chuckle, the sisters waved and continued down the train until Karla gasped. "There they are!"
Alex stood at the compartment door with his arms wide open. "My favorite twins! Karla, looking ravishing as always."
He threw an arm around her shoulders, making her blush.
Coralline raised a brow and pulled Evangelina into a warm hug. She'd known Karla had a crush on Alex since second year — but she'd never teased. Not seriously, anyway.
