"That dreamy look in your eye, give me a tropical contact high."

The sun was blistering above the two of them. After their little "escapades" last weekend they had been somewhat awkward around each other. Today was going to be different. Now they were down in Fontana for the weekend, so pretty much the obvious happened. They were down at the beach. Both of them were in bikinis with Kay in an American flag one that was about as subtle as a car crash while Darjeeling went with a less noticeable black one with a pink floral design.

"Are you sure about this?" Kay was slightly nervous, looking out at the sands in front of them.

"Did I not tell you last time to stop worrying about what people thought of us?"

"True. At least when I'm with you, I'm picking up good vibrations."

"Just be yourself alright?" Darjeeling gave Kay a soft kiss before walking down towards the beach. "Come on!"

"Here I go again." Kay ran down after Darjeeling only to catch up with her right at edge of the beach. People were everywhere, lying in the sun, running around, and just playing games. Kay spotted a bunch of things going on in front of them. There was an Anzio food stall selling gelato next to a lifeguard stand. A beach volleyball game was going on with the Oarai volleyball club going against a coalition of Alisa, Pepperoni, Rukuriri, and Rosehip. Assam could be seen from the sidelines, cheering them on. A group of the girls from Kuromorimine were out in the ocean, trying to relax for once in their life. A bunch of couples were walking together down the beach. Kay spotted Naomi and Pekoe together as well as something surprising. Maho and Anchovy were just walking down the beach hand in hand.

"You see that?" Kay pointed over at the two of them.

"What about it?"

"Have you ever seen Maho be happy like that?"

"Only around Miho. It's nice that she's met someone though." Kay looked over at the girl next to her. The sun was glancing of her hair, creating a light show.

"So where are we gonna put all this stuff?" Kay raised up the red and white cooler in her right arm.

"How about there?" Darjeeling pointed at a somewhat open piece of sand just outside the waves. Kay started to jump with every step closer to the spot as the sand got hotter and hotter.

"What's wrong?"

"The sand is way too hot. Yeep!" Kay jumped straight up only to finally land in a wet spot in the sand. "There we go."

"You're such a child sometimes." Darjeeling shot Kay a sly smirk only to get a pout in return. "Anyway, here's the spot." Kay put both the cooler and her chair down, before getting out the umbrella. It was a red and white striped design, reminiscent of the 50s and 60s. Darjeeling moved her chair into the shade and broke out a book.

"So we're just gonna do this all day?"

"We just got here, and we have all day, so why should we go wear ourselves out the second we get here?"

"Just live a little." Kay grabbed Darjeeling's hand and pulled her up.

"What are you doing?"

"Taking you on a date in the ocean, what else would I be doing?" Darjeeling dropped her book on the chair and followed Kay down to the water. On their way, they passed Erwin and Yukari building a sand tank.

"Woah its cold!" Darjeeling started to laugh at Kay before being slapped with a wave. "Are you alright?" Kay put her hand on Darjeeling's shoulder.

"I'm fine. Since you dragged me out here, I guess we should go out just a little more." They slowly made their way out until they could barely stand on the ocean floor.
