Chapter 2

The tense went down afterwards and a few minutes later Eren spoke "Hate to be the party breaker but I will go wandering a bit around my neighborhood and head home. Catch y'all later." "Would you mind if I joined you? I want someone to walk home with and you live next to me." Mikasa asked shyly with a light blush.

"Oh uhm... Sure, let's go." The two teens got up and said goodbye to their friends, reiciving a few comments like 'You look cute together' or some smirks and winks from Sasha which made both of them turn red. They quickly left before they got even more embarrassed and walked around a little as they left school.

Eren always liked to spent some time of his day sitting under the shadow of a tree, enjoying the breeze, relaxing and finding peace. That was an alone thing for him, but for some reason he couldn't understand, he had accepted Mikasa's request.

"This looks like a nice place. We could sit here for a while." Mikasa spoke as they found a small patch of grass in the shade of a large tree. "Yeah." Eren replied.

Eren lied back, with his hands behind his head, looking at the sky as he sighed peacefully.

"So what do you think about our new school Eren?" Mikasa asked breaking the silence. "Seems better than my last. What about you." "Same here. How come you changed schools?" "I wanted a second chance. A new start." "We sure have a lot in common.

Throughout their conversation, Eren's look remained the same sad-toned, bored look, so Mikasa was wondering. 'Why does he look so sad? Isn't he having any fun? Does he want some alone time? I'd better leave..." The ebony girl thought.

"You look like you want some alone time, I think I should head h-" "No wait." The brunette interrupted her while turning his attention to her. "Stay...I don't even remember the last time I enjoyed someone's company and for some reason I feel nice around you." He spoke.

Mikasa blushed at his last comment. She felt her heart skip a beat. 'He is nice, after all. Maybe I just misjudged... But, h-he wants m-my company and feels g-good around m-me?' She thought as blood rose to her cheeks. "O-Oh wow... That was r-really straight forward..." She said in a low voice. "I get that a lot. But it usually hurts people's feelings when I speak my mind and they dislike me for that. Honestly, I don't care."

"Hey don't say that. You are honest with yourself and that's really important. No one could say it is something bad." She spoke in a reasuring tone while sitting back down, placing her hand on his shoulder. "Here I'll stay, you just didn't seem happy at all and I thought... Well...maybe you'd want your time with yourself."

"It's not that I don't enjoy your company... It's just... I almost forgot how to smile these past few years. So many things happened that I was almost driven crazy." The brunette said in with a sad face. "It sounds to me like you probably went through a lot. But I can understand you. I also had some rough times. What you need is someone to talk to. Let it all out. The sadness, the anger, the fear... And know this, I'm a good listener, if you ever need someone." Mikasa said as she tightened her grip on his shoulder looking at him straight in the eyes with a smile and a shade of pink on her cheeks.

Eren opened his mouth trying to say something but the words wouldn't come out of his mouth. He allowed his body to move on its own and hugged the girl in front of him leaving her in shock. He placed his chin on her shoulder with his arms around her back, holding her tightly. He swore he could stay like that for an eternity. Something felt so right about it. So comfortable.

Mikasa got shocked and looked like she lost contact with the world for a second. "Thank you." The boy said. Mikasa shook it of, putting on a smile and hugging him back. Her one hand was behind his back, and the other was on the back of his head, railing through his hair. "Anytime." She said softly as she pulled back. She saw Eren's tears being held back and gave him another warm, reassuring smile. He put on a small smile in return looking down a bit, while both of them had their cheeks red.

"Keep that smile on, it suits you, you're... Beautiful" He said not even realizing it. 'Damn eren maybe you should watch your straightforwardness dude. You don't just go say these things like that.' A voice said in his head. 'But, something about this felt so real. It was like my heart awas speaking.' He thought. 'But... Not gonna lie, it was pretty smoot too right?' He thought.

'W-w-what?! H-he thinks I'm b-beautIfull?' The girl thought freaking out. She could feel her head turning in a shade of red that is not even in the writer's dictionary.

"O-oh, uh, th-thanks." She said bringing eren back to reality. Eren's smile grew wider, while he was also blushing.

They spent a little more time at their spot, and eventually left for home, saying their goodbyes and parting their ways.
