I'm terrified. I have to substitute for Mme. Lily. I know that this class has or will have a hard time. I also noticed when I looked at the attendance sheet that a lot of the kids in this class go to the dance studio. This is going to be a hard day. I'm not looking forward to today. I'm texting Sophia. She's trying to comfort me, but it's honesty not working. I let her go because she has to. I try to chat with the teacher who works next to Mme. Lily. She seems to understand my panic. She is good friends with Mme. Lily. Of course, I am told that Mme. Lily gets along with all her colleagues . The bell rings. I take a deep breath and stand outside the classroom. Let's do this .Emma smiles at me from her locker. The students one by one enter the class. Once the majority of the students are in their home rooms, I ask Emma, Ava and Isabella out of the class. Then I go to the other immersion home room and ask for Madelyn.

I tell them;"This will a hard day. For me for sure, maybe for you. If you need to leave , Le me know. I'll understand."
They thanked me, I went into the class as the announcement started to say to stand for the national anthem. After "Oh Canada", the announcements drown on and on. The second period bell rings. Here goes nothing. I tell both classes about their teachers, like I'm supposed to. At recess, a woman enters the classroom . Before her entrance, I had been texting Sophia again. She was at home, that lucky girl. Her first dance class she had to teach today was at 3:30pm. The woman is the teacher I had been talking to that morning.

"Hi, how are you?" she asked
"Ok," I reply
"Just checking in," she says as she leaves
"Thanks,"I call to her

I know she heard me. She smiled. I'm happy she was looking out for me. The rest of the day moves slowly, and by the end of the day,I'm happy I don't have to teach tonight.
