It was only recently that Guizhong had passed away, and Rex Lapis took her followers into his own protection. He did feel for them, and he felt exactly the way they did. She was a dear friend and ally to him. He had many of them, though very few meant as much as Guizhong did.

Among the few? A mortal who went by the name of (Y/n). Though they were only a mortal, they did prove their strength. Fighting in battles along side the archon and even two young adepti, they had indeed proven their loyalty and strength numerous times.

The strength seemed to have disappear for a short while, instead becoming anger and grief. The grief was for someone you held dear to you, much like those following behind you.

The image of Guizhong, her bloodied outfit and skin covered in mud and dirt was fresh in everyone's mind. Her last words, spoken quietly to you and the archon beside you.

Occasionally the two of you would glance at each other, then to those behind you to make sure everyone was alright.

No one said a word. The walk to Liyue Harbor was a quiet one.

"Paimon can't wait to try some of the delicious food in Liyue Harbor!" The one and only, Paimon, shouted.

"I know... Thinking about it has my mouth watering!" You groaned.

Aether sighed, stopping in his tracks for a second to check the map. The three of you were headed to Wangshu inn, in need of a room for the night as it was dark, and the journey ahead was still a little long.

"Why do you need to check the map so often?! Paimon can see the inn from here!" Paimon shouted, obviously hangry.

"Well, Paimon can float and we cannot." Aether responded.

You laughed at the two, looking at the map over Aether's shoulder. As soon as the two of you could tell which path to take, you were once again off and on your way to the next destination.

"Paimon's eating all the food, and then Paimon is gonna make Aether pay for it for taking so long!" She shouted, floating around his head.

"Who says I have to pay? (Y/n) could too you know!" He chuckled.

"Oh so now I'm being brought into it? Well then.. Whoever gets to the inn last has to pay!" You shouted, immediately running ahead of the two.

"Hey you got a head start, cheater!" Aether called.

You just turned around and stuck your tongue out before continuing to run off.

"They're quick.. Paimon's already tired!" She groaned, earning a glare from the running boy next to her.

The two of them continued to catch up to you, eventually right behind you.

Aether, however, was just a little too late... so he paid for dinner that night. Dessert too.
