"This place is amazing. Can I move in with you? I volunteer to babysit Maia whenever you want if I can get to stay here," joked May while looking out the patio that had the perfect view of a lake.
After weeks of seeing different apartments and houses, I finally fell in love with a one-story house close to the job and my dad. I loved being around my father and even Cara, but I needed my space as much as I knew they needed theirs. It wasn't until I heard them having some private time that I decided that I couldn't prolong the move any longer.
On top of it, for the adoption of Maia to move faster, I needed to have a place of my own. It wouldn't look that great to try and adopt a child while still living with my parent.
"I'm not sure how Athena would feel about you moving out, but you can stay over whenever you want. You know I love you like if you were my little sister and I have two spare rooms," I chuckled, trying to find Maia's sippy cup in the mess of boxes around the kitchen area of new stuff I have been buying.
"I know you guys were broken up at the time, but I'm sorry Chimney and I kind of pushed Albert into living with Buck taking away your space at his place," Maddie apologized, setting down the last box of kitchen items.
"Don't apologize for that, Madds. As you said, Evan and I weren't together, and if I'm honest with you, I didn't think he would take me back,"
After constantly pushing Evan away and dragging him with me during my depression last year, we were simply not connecting. I put him through so much during those short months we dated that I almost lost hope of ever getting back together with him after we broke up.
Looking back now, I realize how much it hurt to see him at work every single day, knowing what I lost for being so guarded, but even though I have not fully worked through all my issues, our relationship has gotten stronger.
"Thank you both for helping me with all these boxes. My dad and Evan were supposed to help, but dad got called in for a surgery this morning and my wonderful lieutenant claims that he forgot to process Evan's request for getting the day off but we all know that's a lie,"
I have been trying to control my temper at work when it came to Ian, but he kept doing things that were starting to make me let go of such control. I don't know how many other ways I could make him understand that I no longer wanted to be with him, but he keeps insisting that Evan and I aren't going to last. I honestly didn't want to get the Chief of the department involved, but I was starting to feel harassed and irritated.
"No need to thank us, Aggs. We love you and we are here for you whenever you need us," Maddie smiled. "How's Buck doing? I heard he's now having therapy sessions with my parents,"
