Shinsou's PoV-
Since at UA we have most of our classes in the same room, I leaned back in my chair. We get 15-minute breaks in between each class that we could use to neaten our notes or swap out our textbooks from the communal pile at the back. Some people snacked in between classes so they don't waste time on breaks.
Aizawa left the room so he could fill out paperwork in the teacher's lounge. I'm pretty sure that Ectoplasm would be in next to teach math.
Now would be a good time to revise from the last lesson considering classes are always getting complicated. Even students at the top of the class struggled to keep up with lessons.
Class was nothing out of the ordinary. Yayorozu was called to the teacher's lounge over the loudspeaker so the only person answering questions was Bakugo, due to Iida being like the rest of the class and struggling with maths.
I was once really good at maths. I had always understood and people looked at me as the smartest in the class, but when they started replacing numbers with letters, I started to fall behind, feeling that if I were to ask for help, everyone would no think of me as smart but more of a struggling, failing classmate.
I didn't have a high place of popularity to being
Once I saw people who I admired and thought were smart, ask questions, I was already too far behind to be able to redeem myself. I'd slipped so far I didn't understand the main concept anymore but I'll never tell anyone.
Sure, I wasn't as ashamed as before but this event happened in year 9 and considering I'm currently in my second year of UA, if I'd stayed in the main education that would make me a year 11 student.
So to sum everything up I'm a second-year UA student who would be in year 11, with a year 9 level maths education.
This lead to my maths book being entirely copied from other people answers called out in class and filled to the brim with drawings.
I'd been drawing for an hour 4 days of the week for 2 years so you could say I had an acute artistic talent. It was nothing special and I have never made my sketches into actual drawings so this brings up to why I don't share notes out of my maths book.
~Time skip brought to you by my holiday math homework😑~
An hour had passed without my knowledge. Glumly packing up my gear, wanting to get out to the cafeteria.
Straightening out my posture I slung my backpack over my right shoulder and started to make my way to the exit.
Before I had even walked 2 rows closer to the front I was stopped by Jiro. She looked at me with a deadpan face, not that I gave any emotion back.
"I heard from Sero you plan on hanging out with the 'Bakusquad' today?" Though she asked me in intent that it was a question, she made it sound more like a statement. I assumed she was here to start up drama so I replied in the most passive-aggressive way I could.
"What's it to ya?" I asked her.She seemed to notice that she was coming off as rude and changed the way she was standing to a more vulnerable stance.
"They're way too loud for a person like you," she stated. "Look there is a calmer and honestly, less stupid group you could hang out with," Jiro informed me.
Not sure how I should respond to an offered friendship I decided that I should just agree with something she had said previously.
"Not that you'd have to try hard to be less stupid than them," I told her with a slight smirk. "I'll take you up on that offer, thank you."
She seemed to be satisfied with herself and began to turn around. She nodded her head as an invitation to follow her to where she was going to sit.
I had nothing better to do so I followed her out the unnecessarily big door.
I made a few of my steps larger so I would be walking next to her. We walked in a comfortable silence down that hall.
I saw a few of my old classmates from the general studies give me dirty looks. They never really like me.
They liked me even less now since I was part of the class they all wanted to be in. Having this knowledge that at least 20 people didn't want me around didn't bother me. I didn't want them around either so the feelings are mutual.
One thing I've never noticed was that Jiro had 1½ inch heels on her shoes. They made her slightly taller, which she needed to be considering she was rather short.
*Just realised I've had auto-correct off the entire time so I'll have so much more proofreading after I finish writing*
We kept walking until someone else began to walk beside her. I only noticed when the sound of our synced shoes soon became enhanced by another person's feet.
Looking up I saw Tokoyami's head bob up and down with his walking pace. So this is what she meant when she called these guys quieter and calmer.
Our small group of 3, reached the cafeteria and I stepped back to let the other 2 take the lead to their desired table.
They slid in front of me in a smooth transition getting the hint when I slowed my pace.
Tokoyami looked up, the feathers on the back of his head gently bounced as he lifted his gaze across the room until he saw Todoroki sitting alone at a table.
I didn't expect my 2 classmates to walk over to him since he was probably waiting for the so-called 'Dekusquad' would join him.
I was following Jiro and Tokoyami over to Todoroki when someone called out my name.
I spun around, this action caught the attention of the 2 students I was following and they turned to look at what I was doing.
I looked around a little confused at first but when I was Sero waving at me it clicked. I said I was going to sit with him and his group at least for today.
I knew I'd have to make a decision between the 2 groups I could be with.
I have never had the choice of who I could be friends with, it was always who took pity on me always being by myself and they became my distant friend. Now I had a choice.
Deciding to outway my options I simplified what each group was.
The squad that has offered me a spot in seemed to be the emo, goths of the class and the 'Bakusquad' was really a bunch of closeted gays, besides Mina, she seemed to be perfectly happy being 'Mina-sexual'.
"Sorry Sero," I called across the cafeteria. "I'm hanging out with these guys," I added. Lifting my arm from my side I clenched my hand into a fist but left out the index finger so I could point to the 2 students who had stopped behind me.
Sero's cheeks pressed out and his eyes squinted as have drew into a smile. He gave an acute nod before sitting down at his squad's table.
It was along the glass wall the was 20 meters away from the lunch rush selection and kitchen that ran along the wall on the opposite side.
I turned back around so I was now facing it face with the 2 students I might be calling my friends.

FanfictionThis is a Shinsou x Denki story, mostly fluff but it could get a little rocky as dunno as of yet. I don't have a planned ending point but this will be bout 30-45 chapters Shinsou has been part of 2A since the start of the year, being the 'quiet kid'...
