Oh what's new you ask?
Ah nothing, just met a hot guy who asked me to hike with him.
Nothing new.
It's Thursday. I'm lying on the ground with my phone charger plugged in wall waiting for a text from someone.
Take a wild guess.
It's not Cameron.
Joking it is.
Cameron's supposed to text me when he's on his way to pick me up for the hike.
Oh joy.
I mean a hike sounds fun and all, and no offense to people who love hikes, but I don't usually say to someone, Man let's go on a hike.
Why not get ice-cream.
Why did he even talk to me?
I hear my phone make that annoying beeping noise.
Cameron: Hey! I'm on my way! Don't forget your camera!
Ok, let me say one thing.
All of this happened in two days, I met a random guy and he's all chipper and stuff and asks me to go on a hike. Like damn that was quick.
I pack some stuff into my little blue backpack. Water, a snack, my camera, and my wallet. I check out the window and I see Cameron's car stop right behind our curb. I tell my mom I'm gonna hang out with a friend, and head out the door.
(I felt bad to say no to Cameron, and wouldn't want to hang out with a hot guy?)
"Hey, haven't seen you in a while huh?"
"It's only been 4 hours." I respond plainly.
"Guess your right. Cmon hop in." Cameron says nervously as he rubs the back of his neck. Make him nervous? Check.
Cameron stretches himself onto my side of the car and opens the door for me. I could've just opened it myself.
I sound like such a brat huzzah.
"You know I saw you look out your window before you came out here."
"You must've saw my mom or something."
It was so obvious he knew I was lying.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" I ask.
"Go ahead."
"Why did you ask to take me for a hike? I barely know you, and you barely know me. It just sounds like everything happened so quickly."
It seems I hit a sour topic because Cameron stopped the car, sighed, and looked at me.
"Because Hazel, you seem like a really nice person. Your different from most girls. You don't wear all that makeup stuff or hair accessories. You don't try to drag attention. I like how your just being yourself and not giving a single damn thing about it."
Wow.
"But you hardly know me." I said.
" You hardly know me. But I know you. I always knew you Hazel. I'm not trying to sound creepy or anything, but I've always watched you. I've always made sure your okay. I've always known you Hazel." He says every single sentence slowly and meaningfully. I just looked at him in shock of what he said. No one knew me. I had no friends. I was just Hazel.
Double wow.
"Thanks." Is all I can mange and give him a small smile.
"Welcome ma'am" he says as he pretends to tip down a cowboy hat.
Triple wow. With heart eyes.
I feel different somehow. I mean I can't have a lame crush on him, I hardly know him.
But for once in my life, someone knew me.
And I felt happy. (With heart eyes).
