Isaiahs POV
3rd period. My favorite class. I get to see all my friends. But most of all I get to see him. Aaron. The most beautiful boy I've ever seen. Pale skin. Beautiful freckles. "He looks so good today" I mutter to myself. "HEY ISAIAH!" Kinsley. My "girlfriend". Don't get me wrong she's great and everything, but that's the thing, I'm gay. I wouldn't tell a soul. Except maybe gabby. Aaron is openly homophobic. I hate it. Especially because I love him. The thing is, he doesn't know I'm gay so when we play "flirt" if you can even call it that, he doesn't suspect anything. "Hey how are you?" Kinsley asked me with so much energy in her voice. "I'm fine". I don't know what to say to her anymore. It's not like I don't like her or anything but I don't like her in the way she likes me. I feel like a piece of shit for lying to her but I don't know how I'm supposed to break it off. She sits in her seat across the room and I continue to stare at Aaron. "Hey daddy" Aaron saying that snaps me out of my thoughts. A blush covers my face and I quickly put my mask up. "Hey mommy." When I developed my crush it felt more awkward to fuck around with him like that. The bell rang and Mrs Ragsdale came in. "Alright guys..." I didn't hear the rest. I knew we would have an assignment in formative or something like that. I finished the assignment quickly. "What did you make?" I heard gabby ask. "A 100" I said. She looked so nonchalant about it. "Of course you did. Fucking smarty pants." I laughed and made a stupid joke. All I could think about was how Aaron was looking at me. Like he was curious about how I made the grade. "What did you make Aaron?" I asked. I really wanted to know. Aaron was so smart. He always made good grades. "A 100 of course."I smiled. I knew it. "Of course you did." Gabby turned around pretending to flick Aaron for the good grade. "Damn Isaiah your looking thicc today" Aaron said this as he smacked my ass. I blushed and fake moaned. "Oh daddy." I said as a joke. The bell rang signaling lunch. I pulled up YouTube but then Aaron said we shouldn't use our chrome books at lunch today so I put it away. Of course I listened. Kinsley came over to have lunch with gabby like she always did. They mostly talked and sometimes Gabby would rope me in to a random conversation. I loved talking to gabby but it was kinsley who I didn't want to talk to. When lunch ended I looked at Aaron one last time before I went to my fourth period. We had the same fourth and fifth so I'd see him soon. I went to the bathroom and questioned what I was doing with my life. "I'm such an idiot." The bell had already rang but I didn't care. I didn't want to go to class. A few minutes later I heard a knock on the stall. I didn't say anything. "Isaiah it's me" a soft voice said from behind the door. Aaron. "What" I said not wanting to sound weird or like I had been crying for the past 10 minutes. "Cmon dude we gotta get to class." He sounded genuinely concerned. It made me feel warm inside. "I know but I don't wanna go" my voice cracked so many times. He knew I had been crying now.
Aarons POV
"Aaron can you go to the restroom and check on Isaiah please?" I nodded and left the room. What could he be doing in there? I asked myself. Isaiah is my best friend and sometimes I wish it were more. Having homophobic parents that push their beliefs on you is not fun especially when your gay. Everyone knows I'm "homophobic" I'm really not I mean I'm actually gay. No one could ever know that though. Not with the amount of people that know my parents. I finally got to the bathroom and walked in. I got to a stall that was closed and gave it a tug. Nothing. It was locked. I knew Isaiah was in there. I could tell by his shoes. I knocked on the door. "Cmon dude we gotta get to class" I said it in the nicest voice I possibly could for Isaiah. A soft "I know but I don't wanna go was heard from the other side" I smiled to myself and thought about how vulnerable he sounded. Then I had an idea. "Wanna skip?" I thought about how much trouble he'd get in. If anything my mom would just pick us up. "Yeah" he said with confidence and excitement. He unlocked the door and came out face streaked with tears and eyes puffy and red. "Cmon let's go." I grabbed his hand and called my mom to come get us. She said we could walk to the park and she would meet us there. We ran out of the school and didn't look back. We laughed the whole way and held each other's hand the whole way.
