A New Shadow

Chapter Four

Mia huffed and puffed, wincing when the mechanical ninja tightened their grip. She squirmed around in their grip but it felt pointless, seeing a quickly moving shadow heading towards their way and she closed her eyes waiting for what next to happen.

She opened one eye after hearing several clanks from steal hitting the robots, looking at the tall mutant turtle. She looked at his eyes which were a handsomely shade of light green then she looked at the hand offered to help her up, hesitant at first but she took his hand and he roughly but somewhat gentle, pulled her onto her feet.

Raph rolled his eyes before stating "C'mon, no matter how much I hate you. We need to get back." He quickly ran off, jumping onto a higher building to get better coverage and an advantage point to watch his surroundings. He groaned in frustration seeing Mia pathetically climb to get up to get to him, "Hurry it up, will ya?!" He angrily shouted to the girl "I'm trying! Cool your jets!" Mia hissed and swung her leg onto the rail of the staircase on the side of the building, getting onto it as she yelped but quickly moved her hands to grab the bars to the next platform and took a deep breath before she used her legs to leap up and finally scurrying over to Raph "See?" She mocked while sticking her tongue out at him.

He chuckled a bit before he said "Alright, since you think you are so smart. Race you to the lair!" He then ran off, quite quickly as Mia pushed herself to try to catch up. Soon reaching the end of the building and the girl watched Raph jumping the gap with ease, thinking she could do the same as she backed up a bit to get a running start as she leapt off the building and making it barely, hauling herself up before she continued to catch up to him.

After what felt like an hour to Mia which only took Raph 30 minutes to get there. He jumped down and then looked at the girl, watching her climb down before he went to open the manhole to lead to the sewers. Mia grabbed the rail and slowly lowered herself to the next one and continued until she finally jumped down when there were no more rails. She huffed in accomplishment before she looked at turtle and then the open hole in the ground, the stench closed around her nose and she groaned quietly from smelling it but she got over it and climbed down, Raph jumped down after her as the manhole cover clanked when he had let it go.

Mia then realized her legs ached from running and jumping, wondering how the other isn't in as much pain as she was "Probably is used to it." She thought to herself before she followed after him, trying to keep up but her legs almost gave away several times but she stood strong.

When getting there, instead of taking a step further to reach the couch to rest, she collapsed onto the floor. Panting and sore as she looked at the crowd gathering around her.

"Is she okay?" April asked, worried about the other girl, "Raappphhh, what did you do to heeerrrr?!?" The whiny smaller turtle wailed as he ran up to her. Mia then passed out from exhaustion before Donnie and Mikey picked her up to set her on the couch. April gently laid a blanket over the girl before going to get a glass of water, rolling her eyes as she shooed Mikey away when she found him trying to get Mia to eat a slice of pizza, the younger turtle whimpered and was worried about his new friend.

"Don't worry Mikey, after some rest. I'm sure she'll be up." The red-head smiled at the turtle, going from worried to hyper as he nodded and went to play video games to pass the time.
