Kakyoin was holding himself on bars, struggling. A few doctors and specialists were watching, helping. Lily stood by the door, watching Kakyoin attempt to walk again. She glanced at her watch, "All right, it's time to go."
"Is it?" Kakyoin looked over at a nearby clock. It was around the time Jotaro would be here. Lily nodded.
Kakyoin was placed in a wheelchair to go back to his room. Lily wheeled him around into the hallway, to which no one was there. They went over to an elevator, again, empty.
"Hey, Kakyoin?"
"Hm?"
"Did you ever figure out what you were thinking about a few days back?" Lily asked him, curious.
"What are you-" Kakyoin, confused, looked over his shoulder. He quickly understood. "Oh, that. I'm not so sure. I'm in denial."
She smiled, "I see."
The elevator came to a stop. Jotaro was already there, waiting outside of Kakyoin's room. He was holding a bouquet of roses and a grocery bag. He glanced. Being caught with roses, he slightly hid them from his direction.
Lily only smiled, "Aren't you a bit early."
"I'm on time."
Lily looked at her watch and unlocked the door. "Well, so you are. What are the flowers for?"
Jotaro handed them to Kakyoin, "Here, Holly wanted me to give them to you as thanks."
Kakyoin smiles, "Tell her I'm grateful. They look nice."
"If you want to put them in a vase, we can. We get flowers from visitors quite often."
"If you don't mind."
She smiled as she took the roses and headed towards the door, "You two don't do anything crazy. I'll be back in a few minutes." She winked as she exited the room. They were alone. Kakyoin instantly felt anxiety.
Luckily, Jotaro started a conversation, "I got you this," Jotaro handed him the bag. Inside was a carton of cherries. "I'd thought you'd like these."
Kakyoin's eyes lit up brightly, smiling. "Thank you. The food here is quite tasteless."
"Are you doing okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you."
Lily came back. She gave Jotaro a big smile as if she was hinting at something. In response, Jotaro hid in his hat. She sets the vase nearby. She noticed the cherries, "Oh, we don't allow food in here, but I'll let it slide this time."
"If I had known, I wouldn't have brought them."
"Hey now, I'm letting it slide today. You didn't know. Of course, if my boss finds out, I'll be in some trouble."
Kakyoin picked one out of the carton and placed it in his mouth. Jotaro inhaled, knowing what was to come. Kakyoin only smiled,
"Rerorerorerorero."
Lily looked at him with interest, "That's a very...um...different way of eating them if I've ever seen one."
"I've always been told that." He looked over at Jotaro. "While you're here, I have a favor to ask of you."
"What is it?"
"I have thought of a way to reach out to my parents. I wrote them a letter to give to them explaining my situation. I just need to get it out to them. I'm sorry but, would you deliver it?"
"Why me?"
"You're the only one who can as far as I know. Of course, I can't leave, and Lily isn't permitted to leave the hospital until I'm released. Unless you can think of anyone better, I'm asking you."
