✖️💋Ashlynn's POV✖️💋
September 28, 6:04 PM

Cameron and I walk into the beach houses sun room, where Maria and Skylynn were playing while Hayes and Nash sat on their phones. The aroma of ribs and nachos was in the air, making my stomach rumble. I bite my lip and hold my arms over my stomach even tighter than they were before. I look over at the guys as Cam walks over to them, snooping on their phones.

"Oh hey you guys are back!" Nash exclaims, "what's up?"

I don't say anything, I didn't know if I should tell them about what happened, "Nothing," Cameron says shaking his head. I walk into the bedroom I got changed in and throw on my shirt and a pair of shorts over my swim suit. Walking back into the kitchen I see Maria and Skylynn entering the beach house.

"I'm hungry," Skylynn exclaims holding her stomach.

"Suppers almost done," Hayes reassures her. I see Maria rubbing her eyes, I smile slightly.

"Is someone sleepy?" I ask with a slight giggle. Maria just looks up at me, continuing to rub her eyes.

"No..." she replies, but I wasn't convinced. I could see the tiredness in her eyes as she walks over. She hops onto the bar stool beside Cameron and rests her arms on the island, then her head over top. I sit down on the bar stool beside her and rub her back. This simple gesture brings me back to when I was five, how my mom used to do the same thing. A warm smile grows on my face.

"Who wants nacho's?" Nash exclaims as he brings the delicious looking, cheese covered nacho's out of the oven, placing the pan on a heat pad, "careful it's hot."
"YUMMY!" Skylynn exclaims as Nash brings out the ribs.
I get up a dish up Maria's plate, giving her some nacho's, cucumbers and ribs.
"You better dish up your own plate as well," I hear Cameron say beside me.
"I will," I reply quietly, handing Maria her plate. I start to wonder what my dad did for lunch and what he'll do for supper since I'm not there to cook for him. The thought worries me. Who knows what he'll do to me when we get home. What if he harms Maria? What will I do? I start to over think every thing, something I always seem to do when I'm worried. What will happen tomorrow at school?

"Ash?" Cameron asks concerned, waving his hand in front of my face. This knocks me back into reality.
"Ya?" I ask, blinking once.
"You were staring into space, something wrong?" He asks.
"No," I reply convincingly, not wanting to share my thoughts.

I dish up my plate with a small portion of nacho's, a small rib and about seven cucumbers. I reclaim my seat and start eating slowly, my mind still full of thoughts swirling around. The food actually tasted good! But no matter how good it was the nagging thought in my mind caused me to stop eating half way.

Cameron gives me a glance with some sort of emotion in his eyes, but I couldn't tell which one.
"Thank you Nash for supper," Skylynn says happily, licking her lips.
"Thank you!" Maria politely says.

I look over at the setting sun then I scan the room looking for a clock.
"Maria we better go, it's getting late..." I state quietly. The rest of the guys glance over at me, with faces of pity?
"Why so soon?" Nash asks, "it's only seven o'clock."
"I just- gotta go home," I say grabbing Maria's hand.
"Want a ride?" Carson asks me standing up from his stool.
"Um," I ponder for a bit, "sure, thanks." I grab my beach bag while Maria says good bye to everyone, giving them hugs.
"Bye," I say before exiting the beach house.
"See ya at school tomorrow," Hayes says. I bite my lip as Cameron comes up beside me.
"Ya, sure," I say quietly, not in the brightest tone.

I follow behind Cam as Maria holds my hand. When we reach his car I buckle Maria up in the back seat and I get in the passenger seat. I buckle up as Cam starts his car and backs out of parking. I look out the window on our way to my home. I was so lost and confused in my thoughts. I'm here in this car with the man who will probably beat me tomorrow. I sigh in exasperation as I watch the sky that once held the gorgeous sun set turn darker by the second. Suddenly the window goes down and the breeze blows through my hair. I glance over at Cameron as he grins at me. Was it a fake grin? Was his emotions all an act? Was he feeling any emotions right now? Am I feeling any emotions right now?

The ride home wasn't as fun as the ride here. When we make it back to our house, I instantly don't want to leave his car. Because as soon as I step inside that house I know my safety is down the drain. Maybe even Maria's.
"You okay?" Cameron asks, breaking my thoughts. I notice I've been sitting here for the past five minutes staring at my house.
"Ya, I-I'll see you tomorrow," I answer, quickly getting out of the car and helping Maria out. I tried to get put of there as quick as possible, Cam just watched. As I walk up to our house I stop at the doorway.
"When we go inside you run up to your room okay," I whisper sternly to Maria. She nods and as soon as I open the door she runs up to her room, not even taking her flip flops off. When I here her door close I walk in. Before I shut the door behind me I look behind my shoulder to see Cam still looking at me in his car. I sigh and shut the door.
"Where the hell have you been?!" Allan says sternly, scaring me.
"I was out with my-"
"With your friends? What friends no body gives a shit about you," he curses, "stop lying to me Ashlynn or you'll get even more hurt." With that he punches me in the stomach. I cringe in pain.
"I-I'm sorry," I whimper.
"Where's Maria?" He growls with a stern face.
"I'm n-"
"Where is she!?" He shouts.
I look towards the stairs, "She's in her room, I swear if you touch her so help me I'll-"
"You'll what? Go cut yourself?" He snaps. Tears flood from my eyes. "Whoever your 'friends' are, you better not see them ever again."
He grabs my shoulders and throws me to the floor. An instant pain shoots through my left wrist. As I turn to look back up at Allen, I feel a bottle hitting my head and the last thing I heard was shattering glass before I blacked out.

I wake up, my head aching in pain, same as my wrist. As I open my eyes I notice it's dark, as I try to push myself up off the floor I collapse as my wrist fails. My brain starts putting the puzzle pieces together and I remember what happened. I've been here all night? I roll onto my back and sit up. I lift up my non-injured hand to my head, when I bring it back, blood was covering my hand. A tear slips from my eye and I stand up, stumbling slightly. I slowly walk into the washroom, flicking on the lights. When I see myself in the mirror I wince as more tears roll down my cheeks. I open a droor to grab some bandages and the first thing I see is my knife. My eyes widen at sight of it's shining blade. I realize my breathing increased as I pick up the blade.
