-----Faith's POV------
After lunch we were allowed to go outside but "stay within the fences" ... It felt like prison. I parted away from the group of boys and sat on a bench, watching people walk around. The yells and banter of kids broke my intense stare. I looked to see a group of toddlers and kids playing on a playground on the other side of the fence. There was a sign next to the playground. 'Memorial Hill Orphanage' The kids looked to be from two to twelve I stopped when I saw a boy and a girl talking with what seemed to be Harry at the corner of the fence. The girl pointed her tiny finger in my direction. Harry turned around and smiled slightly. I pointed at myself asking if she was talking to me. He nodded and gestured for me to come over. It caught me by surprise, but I got up and walked to the three. "Hi." "Hey." Harry spoke. My eyes widened, he talks! "Hi! I'm Kenzie! This is my brother Colton!" A girl spoke. "Well hi, Kenzie and Colton! How old are you guys?" "I'm six! And Colton is twelve!" The small lisp she has makes her words sound adorable. "Well, Kenzie you are very pretty and you are surely handsome Colton!" I smiled "Thank you!" The lady who worked for the orphanage soon told the kids it was time to go which left Harry and I. "So you talk?" I asked. He just shrugged. "How do you know them?" He stopped and just stared at me. His dark green eyes roaming my face. It felt like hours before he answered. "They remind me of my younger brother and sister." He quietly spoke. "Yeah." "My brother and sister were in that place, Avery and Keaton, I would always talk to them through the fence, Kenzie and Colton were their best friends, my brother one day didn't come out, I asked my sister, where Keaton went she said two people took him home, in other words, he got adopted. Then a couple weeks later Avery got adopted. Haven't seen 'em since. Kenzie and Colton are the closet things I have to them. Avery she was five, and Keaton was thirteen." I saw the tears brim his eyes, I can tell he was trying to hold them in. "Can--can I hug you?" I felt really stupid for asking but it looked like he really needed one. He nodded slowly. I walked closer to him and put my arms around his middle back, I leaned against his chest. His arms went toward my upper back and his head laid into my shoulder. I felt his tears land on my shoulder. I began to rub small circles on his back, attempting to soothe him. "I just miss them, you know." After a couple minutes his sniffles calmed down, and he pulled away. "I'm sorry." He said sitting down on a bench. "No, I'm sorry. That's terrible." I said sitting down next to him. "Well, you've heard part of my story. What's yours?" He said stretching out. I guess it's fair I tell him. "I've never really been a good student at school, I only have two friends and I think I scared them away yesterday" I chuckled. "I'm not too attractive, I thought it might have been because of my weight, I began to stop eating and I don't eat much today, I cut myself for so many reasons, I have the deepest scars." He began playing with my hair, I smiled slightly but continued. "I tried to commit suicide, I cut myself really deep, hoping to bleed to death but, it obviously didn't work. I am beat at home by my mom and stepdad, my dad left. To put the cherry on top, I'm in a mental hospital." I finished. "Wow, I'm sorry." He said raspy. I shrugged. "Now, what's the other part of your story?" I asked. "Well, it's similar to yours. I wasn't a good student, I cut, I attempted suicide, I had one friend, but my parents were alcoholics and druggies, when HRS found out they took my brother and sister, they noticed my cuts and sent me here." He sighed "We got pretty messed up lives." I chuckled. "Tell me about it.." "Hey, just a question, why don't you talk much?" I asked. "I don't know, naturally quiet I guess." We stayed silent for a couple more minutes until the sun was setting. We walked inside and towards the elevator. "What room are you in?" He asked "Two twenty-seven." "I'm on the same floor as you, but I'm two thirty-two" He said pressing the 'two' button. "Great." I smiled. "Sorry, I haven't fully introduced myself, I'm Faith Brinley and I'm seventeen." "And I'm Harry Styles, and I'm also seventeen." When the elevator arrived at the second floor, we stepped out and headed to our rooms. Before I headed into mine I stopped and turned to face Harry. "Thanks..for listening. I haven't talked to anyone like that in a really long time." I smiled. "Thank you. I haven't told anyone that, and it should stay a secret. Okay?" He winked. "My lips are sealed. Promise." I giggled. "Pinky promise?" He stuck out his abnormally large pinky. "Pinky promise." I wrapped my petite pinky around his. "See you tomorrow." He opened his arms for a hug. I happily accepted it. We pulled away a couple seconds later and I walked into my room. I soon regretted closing my door. I swiftly ran out to Harry, who was opening his door, and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "What was that for?" He smiled. "That was my thank you.." I smiled and went back to my room.
