Triston stood on the balcony of his chambers, looking out on the horizon, wishing that someone was there to enjoy the sunset with him.
Suddenly both Sif and Frigga walked into his chambers, and onto the balcony, standing on both of his sides. "What are you thinking about?" Sif asked and Triston sighed.
"What I'm always thinking about," Triston said, and Frigga placed her hand on his shoulder.
"I miss her too," Frigga said before she deeply exhaled. "Now, festivities will start soon. We must get ready."
Frigga walked back into his chambers as Sif guided Triston into the chambers, but he still looked unsettled. "I don't know about this," Triston said.
"It is perfectly normal to be nervous," Frigga said as she went through his clothing. "Especially when meeting your fiancé."
"I'm not nervous, it just feels wrong," Triston said and Frigga stopped what she was doing. She looked over to her grandson to see his face full of worry, and she wished, oh she wished she could just make it better.
"Oh, my sweet Triston," Frigga said before she walked up to him and cupped his cheeks while Sif smiled softly at the two. "I wish I could make it all go away. I wish, I wish."
Triston exhaled before he glanced over to the clothes she had picked out for him. "The point of tonight is to have a nice time and prepare for your father's coronation and your wedding. But don't worry about such things, for now, just relax, try to," Frigga said.
"Alright, Grandmother," Triston said softly and Frigga smiled before she walked back over to the clothing and Sif smiled at him proudly.
"Thank you, Triston," Sif said before she kissed his cheek.
Later that night, Triston sat with his father and mother, in dark blue Prince-type clothes, and all while his parents and their comrades laughed together in the Great Hall, Triston just sat silently, thinking to himself.
Volstagg threw an empty mug of ale to the ground and demanded another, as the others laughed, and Triston smiled with a sad affection.
He stood to leave, to go be alone, but Thor and Sif did as well. At first, he was confused why they were following in his steps, but then he looked ahead to see a maiden walking towards them, with Odin and Frigga by her side. She was wearing a long golden gown, her long dark hair in deep and tight curls, her brown eyes focused on Triston nervously. She was truly a goddess, but she wasn't his goddess.
Thor and Sif guided Triston around the table and towards the maiden as Odin eyed Triston sternly. "Prince Triston Thorson, meet Lady Siv of Asgard," Odin said and Triston softly smiled at the girl while she curtsied.
"Your majesty," Siv said softly but Triston almost chuckled, but he didn't.
"You don't have to do that, Lady Siv," Triston said and Siv looked back up at him. "It is truly not necessary."
Siv smiled and Triston glanced over at Odin, who gave him a look. Triston then took Lady Siv's hand and kissed her palm. "It's nice to meet you, officially," Triston said and Siv smiled.
"You as well, Prince Triston," Siv said, then she looked at Thor, who smiled softly at her.
"Hello, I'm Triston's father," Thor said as if she didn't already know the soon-to-be King, and then Siv looked to Sif with a soft smile.
"I'm Triston's mother, we are so happy to have you in the family," Sif said politely, even though she most definitely didn't mean it.
"We shall leave the love birds alone," Odin said before he took his leave, along with Frigga, Sif, and Thor.
