"Long before the birth of light there was darkness, and from that darkness, came the Dark Elves. Millennia ago, the most ruthless of their kind, Malekith, sought to transform our universe back into one of eternal night."

"Such evil was possible through the power of the Aether, an ancient force of infinite destruction,"

"The noble armies of Asgard, led by my father, King Bor, waged a mighty war against these creatures."

"As the Nine worlds converged above him, Malekith could, at last, unleash the Aether..."

"But Asgard ripped the weapon from his grasp. Without it, the Dark Elves fell. With the battle all but lost, Malekith sacrificed his own people in a desperate attempt to lay waste to Asgard's army."

"Malekith was vanquished, and the Aether was no more. Or so we were led to believe."

Asgard - Present Day, 2013

Odin sat in his huge golden throne of the Throne Room when Loki was brought in, in chains, guards surrounding his every corner, a slight smirk plastered on his lips. Next to Odin, stood Triston, who glared at his Uncle cruelly, and his glance didn't change, not even when Frigga walked in. "Loki," Frigga said softly and Loki looked over at her.

"Hello, mother. Have I made you proud?" Loki asked.

"Please, don't make this worse," Frigga said.

"Define worse," Loki said and Triston's grip tightened in his fist.

"Enough!" Odin snapped and everyone suddenly tensed up. "I will speak to the prisoner alone."

Frigga turned and left the room but Triston stayed put, refusing to leave his spot, truly wanting to see his Uncle have justice. But Loki just started laughing, annoying his nephew even more. "I really don't see what all the fuss is about," Loki said.

"Do you not truly feel the gravity of your crimes? Wherever you go there is war, ruin, and death," Odin said but Loki continued to stare cockily. "And bringing Lidianna into your crimes, turning her against her own family."

"You are not her family. And you lot turned her against me," Loki said but Triston just scoffed. "I went down to Midgard to rule the people of Earth as a benevolent god. Just like you."

"We are not gods. We are born, we live, we die. Just as humans do," Odin said.

"Give or take 5000 years," Loki said.

"All this because Loki desires a throne," Odin mockingly said.

"It is my birthright," Loki said.

"Your birthright was to die as a child!" Odin snapped, and again, everyone in the room tensed. "Cast out onto a frozen rock. If I had not taken you in, you would not be here now to hate me, and your daughter would cease to exist."

"If I am for the axe, then for mercy's sake, just swing it. It's not that I don't love our little talks, it's just...I don't love them," Loki said.

"Frigga and Lidianna are the only reasons you are still alive and you will never see Frigga again. As for your daughter-" Odin started, but it was stopped when there were screams outside of the Throne Room. Triston and Loki looked beyond, confused as to what could be making such noises, but Odin knew well who it was.

"You let me go!"

Suddenly, the doors of the Throne Room opened, to Lidianna, in chains, escorted by Asgardian guards, bringing her up next to Loki. "She will be joining you in the dungeons for the rest of your days," Odin said.

"What?!" Loki exclaimed.
"What?!" Triston exclaimed.

"Grandfather, she hasn't done anything. She helped the humans bring Loki in," Triston pleaded.

"She doesn't deserve to be in the dungeons," Loki said and Lidianna looked at him, and so did he. "She could not handle it."

She rolled her eyes before they both looked back to Odin and Triston. "You have to know this is not fair, Grandfather," Triston said.

"It is out of my hands," Odin said.

"You are The King," Loki annoyingly reminded.

"The people of Asgard feel as though Lidianna, though has changed, should not be trusted. You must remember, Triston, she did help Loki terrorize Earth for most of their takeover," Odin said.

"Because she felt the need that she had to!" Triston exclaimed.

"I know that is what happened, but if I let Lidi go now, it might end in our people wanting to hurt her. I will not risk the safety of my granddaughter," Odin said.

"She is not your granddaughter," Loki said.

"Yes, I am," Lidianna coldly said.

"Until the people can trust her again, she will stay in a prison," Odin said.

"Triston," Lidianna said softly and he looked back at her, her eyebrows crinkled up in absolute worry. "It's alright. Let me do my time."

"It is not fair, love," Triston said, and Loki cringed, still having to remind himself that they were infatuated with each other.

"My actions...have consequences," Lidianna said, and she gave him a deepening look as if to say I love you but the words could never come up to the surface.

"What of Thor? You'll make that witless oaf king while we rot in chains?" Loki asked.

"Thor must strife to undo the damage you have done. He will bring order to the nine realms and then, yes. He will be king," Odin said and Loki looked utterly annoyed.

"Grandfather, I just have one last request," Lidianna said.

"Anything, my dear Lidi," Odin said and Lidianna smiled.

"Don't put me in a cell with...him," Lidianna said, referring to her father next to him. He gave her a look, as if to say, I'm right here.
