"Off with a 'bang'" ~~ Marauders Story

Summer at the Potter Manor/Evans House

James' POV

James Potter sat in his living room on a summer afternoon, snickering with three other people. Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, they were currently discussing what opening prank they were gonna do once they arrived at Hogwarts, the magical school for wizards and witches alike.

"So, here's what we're gonna do..." Remus had suggested, and after a few minutes of discussing — the other three "Marauders", as they were dubbed, smirked at each other. It was the perfect plan "Good work Moony!" Sirius had replied as he put an arm around his best friend "Hey, that's what I'm here for right? Well — minus the company and whole friendship part, but you'd understand even with those thick skulls of yours" The greyish-brown-haired boy replied while rolling his eyes.

James had let out a small chuckle, Peter kept silent — but also chuckled slightly as well while Sirius dramatically put a hand over his chest "I do not have a thick skull-! How dare you!" He said sarcastically, falling onto the sofa as James, Peter and Remus laughed at this, with Sirius joining in soon after.

The raven-haired boy had heard a series of taps as he faced the window and opened it. Four owls had then entered the room, holding a few pieces of parchments in each beak, with the one who was assigned to James the only one with an envelope. He and the others scanned through the papers quickly, they had all gotten the needed stuff for their 7th year about a week ago, so it wasn't needed. Meanwhile he had picked up the envelope and read what was inside, it had the Hogwarts Official Crest so he assumed it was important.

Dear Mr. Potter,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been chosen as Head Boy, please read the rules, regulations, badge and schedules below

James gaped at this as he read further until reaching the end.

"I GOT HEAD BOY!" He shouted as his parents came in "Congrats James! We knew you could do it!" Sirius, Remus and Peter stared in shock as Remus was the first to break the silence that followed soon after James' sudden news "Well...congrats mate! I assume you'll be a lot more mature now?" The boy had asked the one with glasses "Well, I assume so, hope Lily would find this new me better" He muttered as Peter chuckled "I assume so" He had said.

Meanwhile Sirius shouted and grabbed James by the shoulders "YOU SAID YOU WERE GONNA ACT MATURE! WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE REAL JAMES POTTER???" James had snickered and flicked him off "Pfft, stop being so dramatic you twat" He joked as Sirius calmed down "I can never stop being dramatic, it's in my blood" He said proudly as Remus sighed to himself.

"Well then, anyone up for a game of Exploding Snap?" He asked as they all grinned once more at one another and nodded as they began their game.

Lily's POV

Lily Evans was sitting in her bedroom, reading and studying about what they would learn in their 7th year. Why was she alone when she had a sister? Well she wasn't exactly normal.

At age 11, she was told she was a magical witch by Severus Snape, an ex-friend that had betrayed her trust just recently. Her sister, Petunia, had gotten jealous of this since she was a muggle, a person with not a single bit of magical blood flowing through their veins. Meaning she was a muggleborn, a witch born into a muggle family.

Lily was halfway through her Transfiguration book when an owl tapped her window, she opened immediately and read through the messages and letters quickly as well, because she too had bought her own materials last week. It was somewhat a good day, as she met Potter, an arrogant egotistical bully that hexed people for fun, though he did stop this following summer as he seemed kinder and better than the previous years. They had became friends over the day along with the other Marauders, they weren't such a bad group after all.

She then read message within the envelope with the Hogwarts Official Crest, she had gotten Head Girl.

The redhead's face beamed as she ran downstairs, causing Petunia to glare and her parents to look at her "Yes Lily?/ Yeah freak?" They asked as she spoke up "I got Head Girl!" She smiled as she hugged her parents, who congratulated her soon after, while Petunia scoffed and went out the door to meet her some fat creature-of-a-boyfriend Vernon without uttering a single word.

Lily had sighed, she always hoped that her relationship with her sister would work out in the end, but it seemed to never change. The only times they would get along was when some random man was eyeing their mother, the other way around as well.

   She then broke out of her thoughts, heading back to her room to study "I'm off to study more, I'll write to my friends as well" The female had called out to her parents while walking up the stairs. She then sat down on her bed after returning to her room, she brought out a few pieces of parchment and started to write about how she got Head Girl to Alice, Mary, Marlene, Dorcas, Elizabeth and to James, the only reason he was writing to James only rather than to all the Marauders was because she knew they were all together in the Potter Manor.

Sirius' POV

   Sirius was still with the rest of the Marauders, they were just chatting when another owl came in. He rushed to the window as he opened it and took the letter quickly and started to read it out loud "Deer James, Sirius, Remus and Peter. I just found out I got Head Girl! I hope Remus is Head Boy, as I can't expect any of you lot other than him to get it. Sincerely, Lily" He then smirked at James, he smirked back "Bloody hell Prongs! Your luck seems to be on a streak right now!" He said as he patted his brother-like-friend on the back "Just...wow, this is your chance James" Remus replied as James just nodded at him.

   "I know, and I'm not messing this up, no asking her out, no flirting, no hexing for fun and minimal pranks. I'll try my best to pay attention AND take notes if that's possible" He said as Sirius snickered "I bet not, but you should do fine, you can make a lot of things come true when you put your mind to it" He said as Remus looked at him "Since when did you get so...wise?" He asked "Since I heard that line from Dumbledore in his office for pranking Ravenclaw" The rebellious child of the Black family felt a smirk tug at his lips.
