Head Student Duties and More

James' POV

James had been walking towards the library, why? Because he was going to fetch Lily of course, what, did you really think he'd go there to study? He made it clear that James Potter does not go to the library. Well — minus the time where he had to find about animagi and spells for the Marauders Map- and the time where he would go to the library with Lily to actually read something, eh, not important details anyways.

   He let out a small breath, opening the door to the library silently before heading in. His irises flickering as his pupils searched the area for a certain red-headed Muggleborn. His eyes then stopped as he finally found her, a smile tugging at his lips as he approached the Head Girl "Alright Lils, it's time for patrols-!" He whisper-shouted so that Madam Pince, the strict librarian, wouldn't kick him out. There were even absurd moments where a random student, no matter the house, reputation or year, would get kicked out for either turning the pages 'too loudly', getting books from the shelves with 'excessive noise' and/or breathing in a 'loud' manner. Yep she was the so-called insane librarian amongst the students.

   "Already?" Lily sighed as he quietly closed the book and placed it in her bag and stood up, fixing the chair and slinging the bag over her shoulder "Mhm" James had replied before Lily giggled quietly, they then headed out of the library as they started to roam the halls. He had randomly started humming a small tune, Lily had smiled at this and asked "What's that song?" "Hm? Oh it's an old wizard song, you wouldn't understand" The raven-haired boy had said mockingly as Lily scowled playfully, punching his arm lightly in the process "Hey, I may be a Muggleborn but I am a witch still! I know a few stuff about Wizarding World Culture!" She exclaimed as James smirked at this "Hmm, yeah you may be the brightest witch of our age but don't let that arrogance get to your head Evans" He said smugly as Lily replied "You're the one to talk Potter"

The male rolled his eyes at this as he flicked his wand and said
"Expeliarmus"
Lily's wand then flew out of her hand and landed in his, he then raised it out of her reach the moment the red-head started reaching for it "Jamesssss, give it back!" The Marauder smirked at this and waved the wand around "You mean this?" He asked as Lily scowled "Yeah!" He rolled his eyes at this and threw the 'wand' out, a small crack echoing from down the tower "JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER, I SWEAR IF THAT WAS MY WAND SNAPPING-" The red-head shouted as he was soon shushed by James "Shush Lily-flower, that was only a stick, here's your actual wand" He said as he gave Lily the real wand, giving a small smile.

Lily's POV

The Head Girl only huffed as they continued walking, giving detentions and docking points from students who were out of bed, mind you they didn't have the prefect badge, and even if they did, there was a schedule. James seemed to have known about the secret passageways since they caught a lot of students moving across Hogwarts Grounds, seemed odd as well that he kept glancing every few often at a certain piece of parchment that was in his hand. Everytime Lily would question it the raven-haired boy would avoid the question, all while pushing his glasses up by the rim, moving a few strands of hair, letting out small sighs and moving his pupils around- SHUSH SELF, STOP NOTICING ALL THESE THINGS. She scolded herself, shaking her head softly as she began to get a tad bit flustered. Damn hormones...

   She let out a sigh and moved closer to James, keeping her mouth shut along the trip. The male took notice at this as the corners of his lips curled up slightly, the red-head then yawned, checking the time whilst looking out the window. the raven-haired Head Boy noticed she was looking out the window, it seemed they were noticing so many details about each other.

"Say Lily, since it's about..." He checked his watch as Lily looked at him with slight curiosity, raising a brow slightly in the process "Ah yes, 11:00pm, our shift just ended, wanna go to the Astronomy Tower? I heard the moon is looking good tonight" He suggested as she chuckled at the request "As you wish James" She replied with a soft, innocent and pure smile. The Marauder stared at her in slight awe for awhile before shaking his head and looking ahead "Then let's get going shall we?" He then took her hand, causing her to be flustered with a slight pink appearing on her cheeks "Erm- ok then" She managed to mutter as James led the way.

Soon enough, they arrived after climbing the very-tiring-100+steps, Lily was panting but James seemed to be at least fine, she assumed it was because of Quiditch, but that wasn't all, there was also this thing called 'Climbing through the Secret Passageway to the Honeydukes Cellar, which in fact, is at least 1 or 2 kilometres away from Hogwarts, probably even more but no one's asking that. The red-head then sat down against the stone floor, staring at the night sky full of twinkling stars and the shining moon. James sat beside her, she then leaned against him by instinct, there was a light breeze, a cold one since they were high up. So she did this for multiple reasons, one of them being that she needed warmth, the others..- yeah that's for her to know.

   "The moon's very lovely tonight, isn't it, James?" (Too much KNY fanfics lmfao) She asked with a smile on her face, James just sighed and replied while looking up as well "Agreed, I am always right after all" She then rolled her eyes sarcastically at this, nudging his shoulder lightly — causing him to retaliate lightly against her. She yawned all of a sudden, giving into her already shutting eyes "Night...-James.." She muttered softly, heading into a deep slumber, with her friend as support. The raven-haired boy just looked at this before chuckling lightly at her antics, feeling his head droop. He fell asleep as well, snoring lightly. And with that, the Head Girl and Boy were fast asleep on the Astronomy Tower, probably to be found by either any of the staff or students.
