The car pulled up outside my house and I stared up at it. The curtains, drawn. The lights, off. Good. Nobody was home. I started shuffling my feet inside the car, wondering if Niall was going to say anything before I got out.

'That was fun.' I heard his soft voice whisper into the darkness of the car. I gave a small smile before looking up. Niall's blue eyes were recognisable even though I couldn't see any other part of his face.

'Yeah. I mean. The film was okay. The plot could have..' I stopped. Niall's hand was placed on mine and I heard his little chuckle.

'I meant the kiss.' I felt my cheeks go warm. I looked back down, and started playing with my necklace. What was I thinking?

'Um..' I pulled my hand away and placed it on my lap.

'What?' Niall's voice echoed round my head. Yes, Bea. What? Niall was amazing. He was caring. Incredibly good looking, sweet, funny, And I felt safe whenever I was near him. So what was going through my mind when I stepped out the car and I stood by the door and frowned at him.

'I'm sorry, Niall. Don't call me..' I slammed the car door. I threw his jacket on the floor and walked quickly to my front door. I opened it and closed it without even taking another look at Niall. It was then that I realised that i'd been holding my breath.

* * *

'Bea!'

...

'Bea! Come downstairs!'

...

'BEA!' My mum's screaming shot through my ears and I sat up almost immediately.

'What?!' I screamed back, not happy with my rude awakening.

'There's a friend of yours at the door'

I sighed. Why was Hannah apologising to my face? Or was it Angie? Either way I pulled my hair into a messy ponytail and slipped on my slippers. They shouldn't care what I looked like. When I got downstairs, the door was shut.

'Mum, why'd you shut the door on Hannah?!'

'It's not Hannah, hun!' She yelled back from the kitchen. I rolled my eyes.

'Angie then! Either way they're my best friends. I thought they usually came into the house! It's freezing!'

'It's not Angie either! Just answer the door.' I breathed out a sigh. It didn't cross my mind who else it could be.

'Niall?!' My eyebrows rose slightly and then I felt my cheeks go bright red.

'Why is it, you always have red cheeks when you see me?' Niall gave me a quick wink. I stepped outside for a second, and shut the large pine door behind me.

'Niall! I told you not to call me..' I started biting my lip and I stared down at my embarrassing pyjamas. My bottoms were floral and my top was plain white yet, in front of a boy as beautiful as this, I felt so small and embarrassed.

'I didn't call. I calledforyou!' His smile lit up, the morning sun making his braces shine. I looked up, squinting, my face a clear view that I wasn't view.

'And I wanted to talk to you.'

'Well you are..'

'No I mean..' He grabbed my hand and pulled me on to the bench that was beside my front door.

'Why'd you run off? I thought we had a good time..' Niall kept hold of my hand and looked up at me, sympathetically.

'I just..'

My heart fell. I was almost sure that if I looked down, i'd see it on the floor in front of me. But I couldn't avert my gaze to the floor as something even more horrifying was in my line of sight. It was Declan.

'Shit!'

Niall's eyes burst open and stared at me, his face full of concern.

'Are you okay, babe?' I turned round to face him, frowning. He gave me a quick grin before turning to where I was looking.

'Declan?!'

'I forgot that he was coming to see me today, oh god.'

'It's okay calm down, look my car's just over there.'

'No! He'll see you!Without thinking, I jumped off the bench, pulling Niall with me. I fled inside the house, ignoring my mother's calls and pushed Niall into the nearest hiding place I could find. My wardrobe.

'What the fuck..?' Niall was about to protest when I heard my mother calling.

'Bea! Declan's here!' I came down the stairs to see Declan standing in the doorway with a box. Still panicking that Declan would see Niall.

'Um. Yeah. Hi Declan' I plastered a fake smile on to my face and walked down the stairs, giving my mum some gestures that she should go. She was about to walk back into the lounge when she turned around.

'Where did that boy go by the way?'

'What boy..?' Declan clenched his fists. Crap.

'Oh. Nowhere. He was just delivering some help for my er.. art project. He's in my class and he er.. wanted to give me some tips.'

'Oh.' My mum smiled. 'Well i'm glad it's finally getting completed.'

'Yeah, Mum. Bye.' My mum stiffled a small giggle before sitting down again to watch her soaps.

'What's in the box, Declan?' I mumbled, quickly trying to change the subject of Niall.

'Oh, er. I got you a little gift.' Declan had a large grin that stretched from ear-to-ear on his face. It was one I recognised. I always saw it right before he was about to act like a good boyfriend. Trying to act like a good boyfriend.

'Can I open it now?' I asked, taking the package and shaking it to see what it was.

'No. It's for your birthday. Well. You going to invite me upstairs then?' I bit my lip, thinking. But then I realized that Declan didn't like waiting. So i'd have to improvise. I gave a quick smile then trudged upstairs, my heart pounding under my vest top.

When we arrived in my room, Declan sat on my bed, smiling. Too happily, I might add. He acted like he didn't want anything, but I knew he'd get angry with me if I didn't. I walked over and sat on his knee. He smiled and pushed his lips to mine. I could taste alcohol but I had to wait for him to pull away before I could off.

Declan took the package off my dressing table after I put it there when we came in and walked towards my wardrobe.

'What're you doing?' I spat.

'Putting this in your wardrobe. I don't see anywhere else to put it..?'

'Erm no. I'll put it in the wardrobe.' I grabbed the package from his hands and threw it in the wardrobe. It must have hit Niall because he let out a loud 'Ow!'

I saw Declan turn around, fist clenched.

'What the fuck was that..?' He asked, veins bursting on his neck
