Mikel looks at me with a weird glint in his eyes and sighs heavily, " I am going to tell you a story about our history that no one knows. I was in my early twenties when I met this amazing girl. I asked her for her name and she told me it was Charity. I smiled and told her mine. We hit it off. After a year or so of talking with her I asked if she'd be my girl. She just smiled at me for the longest time before telling me yes. I was ecstatic. I was driving her home when we were T-boned by a drunk driver. I was injured severely. I turned to her to see her in worse shape than me but the cuts on her face and neck were healing. I got a little freaked out and tried to escape the car. My back was messed up. I couldn't move. She started to stir which terrified me. She looked over and told me to stay calm. She wiggled out of whatever position she was in. She crawled to me and kissed me softly. I was perplexed and a bit taken back by it. She looked at me before biting her wrist and touching the bleeding wound to a steadily bleeding one on my forehead. I remember the initial pain. The fire like stream running up and down my spine. The last thing I remember before I lost consciousness was her telling me to forget her and then the sound of my crushed spine remaking itself."

"I came to in my bed. My body perfect again and not the slightest clue as to why I couldn't remember anything. I got out of bed and walked around town for awhile. I see this girl that looks vaguely familiar. I see her smile at some hidden thought before she looks up. I walk over to her and was about to say hello when everything came crashing back. I back stepped as I remember her telling me to forget her. I regain myself and walk up to her and kiss her softly. She stands and can't look at me. I tell her its okay. I'm not scared but I'd like an explanation. She agrees and we walk back to my house. She precedes to tell me that she is what is know as a Death Dealer. She tells me that what she did was against her species law and that she had one of two choices when it came to me. She could kill me or she could marry me and produce an heir. I chose the one that meant me living and saving her the pain of doing something that she clearly didn't want to do. We were married by the end of the month and she became pregnant rather quickly. Nine months later I was the father of a bouncing baby boy. The first fifteen years went by in a blur. On my sons sixteenth birthday we waited for the change to take place, bringing him into his true form as a Dealer. When it didn't happen we were perplexed. He showed all the signs in the years prior of becoming as his mother. Her father found out and was livid. He didn't have a male heir to take his place as king. In a blind rage he killed my wife and his daughter before injuring me critically. My son witnessed the whole thing. He became so blind with rage that I saw him change. Not into the Dealer he was supposed to be but something new all together. His muscle mass increased as did his intellect. He proceeded to come to my side. Checking on me. He did as his mother did years before. Giving me his blood. I felt my body changing. I healed by this incredible need to kill replaced the grief of loosing my wife. Before I could charge my father- in- law my son did. I watched as my sixteen year old son took on a man almost four times his age and easily twice the size. He fought hard but he couldn't keep up. He fell and I watched his life end. Rage. Rage so intense my body shook with it. I let out a scream before charging my father- in law. As I fought him my need to kill him grew. As it grew so did my strength, my mind. Everything. Soon I had him pinned. A blade to his throat. I could see the fear. He asked what I was and I told him I was Death's Nightmare as I slit his throat before driving the same blade into his heart. I was hunted by every Death Dealer after that. And every time I won."

"Years later I was put into a situation where I could save the life of a woman or let her die. She looked so much like my wife I chose to save her. I gave her my blood. She healed and we talked. I grew to love her and she me. We had a child. A girl this time. On her sixteenth birthday she changed into a beautiful Dealer. I was baffled by it. My new wife flipped. Her body experiencing the change into Death's Nightmare. I wasnt going to lose another child so I had no choice to kill the second woman I ever loved. My daughter never forgave me but she'd talk with me to find out as much as she could about what she was. I told her without hesitation. When she turned eighteen she left. I saw her once in awhile. She came to me about twenty or so years ago and told me that somehow others like me were after her and her husband. She was pregnant. I hid her and her husband until the baby was born I told her she was of human lineage. She smiled and thanked me  she let me hold my granddaughter before they left. I don't know what happened to my grand baby but I know without a shadow of a doubt that my daughter and her husband died soon after they left my refuge."

" I loved a Death Dealer. More than anything else. I know it is possible to be with one even as a Nightmare. If you love this girl, you will find a way to make it work. Let your love for her out weigh the need to kill. That's what I did with my daughter. The need to kill was there. Every day. Go back to her. Hold her. Love her. I don't know why your father and his people have such a large vendetta against the Dealers, but they are a good people for the most part. Answer me this, Is she arrogant or is she sweet?"

I listened to his story with a growing sense of hope. I envied him for his control. My father is a sick sadistic bastard that, from a small age, drilled into me that I should kill any Dealer I come across. I look at him and smile, "She's the sweetest girl in the world"

"Good, then go! But first do you have a picture of her?" He asked. I pulled out my phone and held it out to him. Misty was my background. He took the phone and just stared at it. His head snapped up and I saw the tears in his eyes.

He smiled before saying softly, "That's my granddaughter."

My jaw hit the floor and I think I passed out.
