New Recruits

Britt slept the rest of the day and the next day the men went out to get new recruits. Atem made sure his group was among the new recruits as Britt had insisted. He hoped she was doing well. When the large group was led to the hideout Atem made sure the one named Jabari didn't see them. He saw Aiden waiting for them as the new recruits filled with women and men were waiting.

"Welcome new recruits." Hal said standing by Aiden "Some of you are going to be trained others will help prove they deserve to be here. Others will be still here even if they don't. Our leader insists on fairness and to show what some of the training is we have made an example."

Atem looked around seeing that there was men and women training together. He wondered where Britt was when he saw a hooded cloaked figure standing on a ledge in the middle upstairs. He figured that Britt was going to keep watch on the new recruits.

There you are. Atem thought

When the example started, Atem noticed it was Hal and the three other men with wooden sticks. Aiden was on the side as he watched as well.

"Alright, let's begin." Aiden said

Atem watched as the four were fighting fairly without magic for now. He could tell they each were skilled in their own way. He couldn't tell who would win but then he heard the sound of someone jumping and looked up seeing her. She landed with water and joined in the fight as the men looked at each other but she was tossed a stick and grabbed it.

"No magic yet." Aiden said

"Got it." Britt said as she looked at the four "Come on."

Watching her go against them was something Atem didn't expect seeing she was doing quite well. He looked up seeing that the 'leader' was still standing there watching. So how was she in two places at once? Or was one of her siblings in her place?

Britt was able to keep her balance and not fall out of their little ring and she was able to match with her potentials for 2nd. When Aiden called for magic she twirled the stick in her hand as water came to the stick and they each had magic of their own. Britt leveled with them but not once did she let up when it came to fighting men. She treated them like they were her opponent.

"She's strong." Yugi said

"Yes, she is." Atem said
"Is that the one dad said is y-" I put a hand over his mouth and nod.

"Strong Hecka." Mahad said

"Very strong." Mana said

Britt ended up tying with them that there was no real winner. When Aiden called the fight off she treated them with respect them with a simple slide of her hand she used water to exit and go to the girls side of the place. Hal though found a note on the ground she left purposely and looked over it.

"Men on the east wing and girls are on the west wing. That is the rules." Hal said

When they were separating Hal walked over to Atem and put a hand on his shoulder. Atem looked at him knowing that he knew exactly who he was. Hal knew that she wouldn't do such things with just anyone.

"Leader wishes to speak with you." Hal said

"Take me to the leader." Atem said

Hal led the way and Jabari noticed knowing no one was just summoned to her chambers. He questioned if something was up but without breaking rules he had to be careful. He knew Britt could get him kicked out as fast as he was apart of this.

When Hal got to the room he knocked on the door and then walked away. It was how they figured out things in this area.

"Come in" Britt said

Atem opened the door and closed It behind him as he looked at her. He saw her drinking some water and putting some on her hand towards her neck. She was sweating from that work out and he could tell from what was going on.

"You did well showing women can fight with men leader." Atem said

"Was that sarcasm?" Britt asked

"Not at all, respect." Atem said

"I expect a champion out of the new recruits. I hope you can rise to the occasion." Britt said

Atem looked at her surprised and part of him felt like he was turned on by her comment. After all what more could he take that as when it came from the women his father wanted as his bride. Atem walked over and he took the water and put some of it on his hand as he rubbed her shoulders seeing the water glow on touch.

"Ah that feels good." Britt said

"No comfort in this pace?" Atem asked

"No." Britt said "But I may send out a group to get more beds."

Jabari had secretly showed up and listened by her door hearing her conversation. Of course he couldn't look in so he was assuming Britt was doing something bad when she said it feels good.

She wouldn't be with one of the new recruits? She's not that way. Jabari thought as he kept listening

"Maybe you should let someone help take care of you and your needs." Atem said

"Who would do that? Alec? Killian? Ben? Hal? You?" Britt asked

"Are you saying your attracted to them?" Atem asked

Britt thought about it "Maybe." She said teasing "they are very attractive men compared to my obsessive friend."
"Obsessive friend?" Atem asked "What are your thoughts of me?"

Britt put a hand on his cheek and she kissed him "you are here with me and not them but yes you are attractive too."

So she's attracted to others who are not me?! Jabari thought

Jabari opened the door a little and when he looked in he saw Atem pull her close and kiss him. Seeing Britt kiss Atem back was shocking to him and he wondered if she was doing other things with people.
