It was time for me to leave. We were different people now, we should be leading separate lives, away from the shadows of our past.
"I'm happy you're here." Natsu had winced at my words but the corners of his lips raised and for some reason, I felt pleasure in receiving that smile. Ugh, Lucy stop. You're supposed to be leaving now.
"I have matters to deal with Mr.Dragneel but I'll be taking my leave now. It was nice meeting you and I hope we never see each other again." I stated matter of fact before grabbing my bag and getting ready to leave with my drink. I still needed to pay, how did I forget that.
I searched in my shoulder bag for my wallet but it was nowhere to be found. Mascara, lip gloss, a bobby pin... where did it go? Was I robbed?
"I got it," Natsu stated, calling over a waiter and handing him a hundred-dollar bill. How dare he, I was completely capable of paying myself.
"Keep the change." How generous of him.
"I can pay for my own drink." I glared at him from across the table.
"It's the least I can do to thank this visitor for coming to my little table here."
"I'll pay you back." My hand landed on my petite lavender wallet and I slammed another hundred dollar bill on the table.
"Luc- Ms. Heartfilia, I don't need or want your money, you can pay me back in another way, another time." Natsu had brushed a strand of hair out of my eyes before slipped out of his cushion chair with his autumn jacket in hand and walked out the door. The nerve of that guy. He's so arrogant. Fine, if he didn't want my money, I'll spend it on myself instead.
But I had to admit, his cold side was unnerving because I wasn't used to seeing him like that and did he grow taller? No way, he's way past the growing stage. It's probably because he's more masculine now and I had to admit but several pairs of eyes turned his way when he walked. He walked like a model...
Ugh! I'm the model, why am I admiring and still staring at him, he just left?? I've seen better. I tried to convince myself but deep down, I knew that wasn't true. This was getting out of hand, I promised myself not to associate myself with the people who hurt me but Natsu was breaking that resolve.
"Hey Erza! I just landed in Magnolia and am heading your way now...no don't worry about me, I took a quick stop at Love and Lucky for a drink...I'll be there in 10." I hung up and head over to the bus stop. I had moved my car and all my belongings over to New York, which cost quite a lot in shipping and transportation fees. I really could've used the free parking spot at the Dragneel Mansion and after seeing the bill, I regret not doing so. The fees were sky high and the annoying part was that now after landing in Magnolia, I didn't have my personal mode of transportation except public transit.
Dragging my large pale pink suitcase behind me, I exit the cafe and head towards the nearest stop.
Darn it! There was such a long line, I guess everyone's busy this week. I should've flown back some other time when it wasn't right in the middle of rush hour.
Oh well, I'll just call a cab.
Fortunately, in the corner of my eye, I saw a cab driving this way, perfect!
"Here!" I gestured waving a hand.
"Sorry that was mine, I was here first." Some random couple said, hopping into the car and driving off before I could even register what happened.
"Excuse me-" I stood in disbelief at what happened.
"Hop in" Natsu's same old red Ferrari pulled up in front of me. The side passenger's window was rolled down and he peeked at me over his shades. Wow isn't he cool.
