Step by step, snow crunched under her feet. Her shoes were worn down, her socks wet, making a slight squelch sound every step. The same old crunch and squelch noise made by damp socks and snow.

Behind her was a trail of muddy snow. She remembered trying to play in the snow at her home. She would try to make snowballs, but they always melted much faster from her touch.

Her mind aimlessly wanders around. With bland surroundings and the same noises, she marches with no destination in mind. Just forwards, towards somewhere. Some place much colder than her home.

It was springtime when she left her home. She could remember the many flowers that grew next to the river where she played with her step sister.

She remembered how the river swept her away, how she failed to save her because she couldn't control the wild fire magic that courses through her. How that same magic destroyed her home with her father in it.

Annie hugged Tibbers closer to her chest. Tibbers was always there to help keep the sad thought away, but Annie still felt lonely, even with Tibbers to keep her company.

Even if she was mean to Daisy, she really did miss her. She was her first living friend, even if they got into arguments and fights.

Tibbers was the only friend she had left with  her dad, Daisy, and her mom all having left her. She could barely remember her mother's voice, it had been so long since she heard it.

All she remembered was that she left to get medicine when both herself and her father had fallen ill with some sickness.

Where is she? Where did she go?

Her father and sister were gone forever, but her mother was still out there. Maybe she could find her out here.

Annie smiled for the first time in what felt like forever. Thinking of telling her mom of all the adventures she had with Tibbers and Daisy.

But won't I hurt her like I've hurt everyone else who loved me?

Not this time. Not ever again. She won't let her power hurt the ones that matter to her the most.

For once after so many steps, she felt like she was moving towards something.

"Sooo, what do you think we can trade for with a giant tree ripped out of the ground by a giant yordle?"

Willump stared blankly at the boy, shrugging his shoulders

In front of the duo was a large tree with its roots in the air and a hole where it once stood.

Gnar was sitting on top of the fallen tree with a large smile on his face holding two white squirrels and his beloved boomerang.

They stopped by the small oak grove to try and find some food for dinner when Willump spotted a squirrel in a tree.
