In a hidden world still governed by the old forgotten ways of nature, the elemental council faces a great decision...the life or death of a child. Conceived of forbidden love between fire and earth, its future is unknown. Legends tell of such children, driven mad by the inner struggle of possessing two conflicting elements and destroying entire lands while simply dreaming. Infants possessing powers even greater than the council can control. Others share another tale of neither element having the chance to develop fully, and the child being too weak to survive...but which, if either, is true?
Will the council take the chance?
What about the parents who broke the most important law of their kind, stealing away in the night, mad with love?
What of the mother? A mother's love for her baby is stronger than all else, be it reason, law or death…
and what of the child?
