Narcissa's POV:
"Is Draco alive?" I asked Harry Potter, as he lie on the ground after the Dark Lord hit him with the killing curse. I knew he was still alive.

He nodded, not opening his eyes. I still had hope that the boy could overthrow the Dark Lord.

"He is dead." I reported back to Voldemort.

He laughed an ugly laugh. "Finally! I have killed Harry Potter!"

There was a crowd of people surrounding Voldemort as he told them the fake news. There were cries of sadness and Longbottom was even courageous enough to come in front of everyone and give a heroic speech.

I found my boy amongst the people, and that was all I cared about, that he was safe. I gave him a comforting smile, but I don't think he had the power to give a smile back. It was a hard night for everyone.

Suddenly, Potter stood up, surprising everyone but me. Even Draco's face lightened up slightly seeing that there was still a chance.

What surprised me the most was that my son threw his wand (Ik it was a deleted scene in the movies + I'm kind of glad they left it out). Potter caught the wand and started dueling the Dark Lord.

"Draco." I whispered to my son. "I think it's best that we go now, we've done what we can."

He nodded and I took his arm and we disapparated from the battlefield. As we arrived at the manor, I took him in my arms and let the tears fall down from his eyes.

"Son, it will be okay." I said to him.

"I know, mother. I- I don't know why I did that. I don't know why I threw my wand to Potter. What came over me?" Draco asked.

"You did what your heart told you to do." I told him. "And I'm proud of you."

He smiled through his tears and I kissed his cheek. "I should go check on your father. I need you to stay here, okay?" I asked and he nodded. "I'll be back soon, I promise."

I apparated back to Hogwarts. To be truthful, it was not Lucius I came to check up on. Was Potter still alive? Which side has won?

I looked around and saw Potter and his friends on a bridge as the boy snapped a wand. Was that my son's? I couldn't believe him! Why would he do that!

I apparated behind the Golden Trio. "What is this, Potter?" I asked him, startling them a bit.

"Oh, um..." he looked a bit frightened and Weasley and Granger pointed their wands at me.

"No, no." Potter said. "It's okay, she saved my life. I think we can trust her." and he slightly smiled at me. He stuck out his hand, but I ignored it. Instead, I walked forward and hugged him and I felt him tentatively hug me back which made me smile a genuine smile.

I pulled back and shook the hands of the other two. "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for Lucius. He has a bit of a different opinion than me and my son." I told them. "I'm aware that my son hasn't exactly been a gentleman towards you three in particular. And I can't give all the credit to Lucius. Of course, that was his decision to act like that. And it wasn't your fault that you didn't shake his hand in your first year. Yes, I've heard about that. He was quite put back by that."

Potter smiled. "I suppose I could have given him a chance."

"No," I said. "he deserved that." I laughed. "But I think Draco might want a chance to talk to you sometime, if that's okay. I don't know if he'll ever be the same after this war."

Potter hesitated. "Yeah, I think he's earned that much. We could visit him in a few days if that's okay. I'm a bit tired." he chuckled. Then, he turned to his friends. "What do you guys think?"

Ron nodded in agreement, but Hermione said, "I think that might be a bit overwhelming for him. It's one thing to open up to one Gryffindor, especially one of us, but three? Mrs. Malfoy, it's up to you of course."

I smiled at her. "Knowing my son, you might be right, Ms. Granger. Nothing against you two, of course. You two seem like lovely people. I'd love to have all three of you over for dinner sometime."

Weasley spoke up for the first time. "Thank you, Mrs. Malfoy, that sounds great!"

"Ronald," Granger said, rolling her eyes. "it's always food with you, isn't it?"

I laughed. "We could have you over in the summer. Perhaps a barbecue outside. The manor is quite gloomy on the inside, in my opinion."

~A FEW DAYS LATER~

Harry's POV:
"Thanks for breakfast, Mrs. Weasley. It was delicious as always. I'll be back in a bit." I told her.

I was staying with the Weasleys and Hermione until I could find a place for Ginny and I. I had been in touch with Mrs. Malfoy and we had planned for me to meet with Draco today.

"Bye Ron, Hermione." I waved to them and walked out of the Burrow. Once I was outside, I apparated just beyond the property of the Malfoys.

A/N:
Helen was truly an amazing person. I was so sad when I heard the news.

Anyway, I hope you liked the first part! It's a bit short, but I think most of my chapters will be on the short side. Overall, I think this will be a shorter story. I just felt the need to do something in honor of Helen, and what better to do than write a short story? I find writing is a great way for me to express how I feel.

I will be up with a part 2 soon. I already have most of it planned out!
