Once you opened the message from Obi-Wan you got out of your bed to pull on your robe. He wanted to give you a call so you set up the holoprojector on your desk and sent him a message back. There was a whir and a blue projection of Obi-Wan appeared. "Did I wake you darling?" he appeared to be in his own living quarters.
"No I was just getting up," you rubbed your eyes. There were some dried tears that streaked the side of your face and you rubbed them away. "How is it there?"
"It's been tense. We might stay for a few days to get things settled and then we leave. It isn't up to us to remediate anything. It's these two-"
"Other Jedi from Gero," you finished what he was going to say.
"Who briefed you?" he rubbed his beard.
"Kit," you inched closer to the projection. "Where's Anakin?"
"He's with Jedi Knight Luzu on their side of the moon. I'm with Jedi Knight Casper," Obi-Wan looked over his shoulder. You can see his shoulders tense up. You missed him already and being apart is making you realize how attached you two have become in such a short time.
"Is someone coming?" you whispered.
"No," he turned his attention back to you. I just thought alarms were being sounded off," he massaged the bridge of his nose. "There has been a lot of those in the past few hours."
"Oh," you didn't know what else to say. You couldn't tell him about your dream because you were wary of how he would react.
"I'll be back soon. I promise you that," he reached out to you through the hologram and you raised your hand to touch his. The projection quivered briefly but it held. "I'll read you a story right now if you want. I'm not doing anything at the moment."
"Sure," you nod and brought him over to your bed. You laid back down and put him beside you. Obi-Wan has the book right next to him and you watched him as he flipped through the book.
"You had a nightmare again didn't you?" he says without looking up.
"I'm fine Obi," you say with a sigh.
"You have to tell me what happens in these dreams," he held the book face down on his lap.
"Most of the time nothing is happening and I wake up. That's the gist of it," you replied.
"Don't lie to me," his voice was stern and the look of concern was clear on his face. That was the voice he use when you were still his Padawan. You hated it when he did that.
"I'm not lying," you sit up.
"I can sense it through our call right now!" he exclaims. "Even with your demeanor, I can tell." You stare at him wondering if you should tell him that the thing he hated the most was in your dreams.
"Maul," you said. "I dreamt about Maul." There was a shiver that went down your spine and he stayed silent. Obi-Wan just stroked his beard and you can see that his mind was running through different scenarios.
"Are you comfortable with sharing with me?" This surprised you. When you had a nightmare as a Padawan he would prod you to tell him what happens in them. His reasoning was that he had to make sure you were not distracted or losing focus because of your fears. Now you don't know what changed. He must expect that you know how to better handle these situations. Since he was more open to listening you didn't mind telling him. There were no secrets between the both of you.
"It wasn't a big deal. I just thought he was in my room and he threatened me with his lightsaber. I wasn't going down with a fight," you said. You got a chuckle from him and then he moved closer in the projection.
