THE OTHER BLACK
chapter five
.   .   .   .

CORDELIA BLACK,
SEVENTH YEAR
.   .   .   .

"𝙒hat do you mean you can't help me?" Cordelia hovered above Severus Snape as he sat in the library, eyes still glued to his Potions assignment. "Do you know how important this is you blob?"

"You've made it clear, about ten times, Cordelia but I can't help. Last time I did, we stole a wand and you nearly killed someone with it. Oh and did I mention you Obliviated someone with it as well?." Snape pointed out, not once looking up and Cordelia gasped loudly as she plunged herself before the younger Slytherin student.

"It's Andromeda we're talking about here Snape." Cordelia cried out, crossing her arms over her chest. "Andromeda!"

"The same Andromeda who asked you to stay out of her business about a hundred times?" Snape raised a brow. Maybe Cordelia told Snape a tiny bit of they're dealing with, but that's only because she thought he'd help her again.

"Kid, I'm helping you get tougher, not disrespectful." Snape chuckled a little before going back to his Potions assignment. "Come on Severus."

The quill dropped. "You never called me Severus before. You must really need my help." He hummed, picking up his quill again. "Still can't help. Sorry."

"What do you mean sorry? What's that supposed to mean?" Cordelia sighed. "Listen here, less annoying human blob, it's just this one little job and then no more late night adventures." She flashed him a smile. "Isortapromisenot."

"What?"

"Nothing! Will you help?"

Cordelia could see how much Snape just wanted to do his Potions assignment but she cracked a small smile when he groaned, setting his quill down. "What do you need me for?"

"You're the best!" Cordelia grinned. "Rachel Tonks, I need you to get her to tell you how to enter the Hufflepuff Comon Room."

Snape pursed his lips. "What do I get out of it?"

"What? I just told you, no more late night adventures." Cordelia hated begging but she needed Snape for this one, she can't do it without him. It's funny how she never thought she'd be in such a situation, she prided herself on being the strong one, she prided herself on being just like Bellatrix. And everyone loved her for it, they loved Bellatrix, why wouldn't they love Cordelia? She was just like Bellatrix ❨ in some places that is ❩ and they both were hated or adored by all.

"It's not enough. I don't mind the late night adventures, however I do mind the attempted murders, the Obliviation and the wand stealing."

"We can work on that." Cordelia shrugged, eyes drifting towards the library entrance and in came her target. She was walking with another Hufflepuff girl, one Cordelia did not recognize. "Look there she is, put on your best smile ━ not that one, you look constipated. The one where your tiny dimples show, yes that's the one, now go."

Snape cursed at Cordelia when she flung him forward and she quickly went out of sight, hiding behind a shelf and she peered, seeing Snape calmly talk with Rachel.
