•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Being in a relationship with a pro hero is not all sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes Izuku will come home in the early hours of the morning, battered and exhausted. You're almost always awake and ready to welcome him home, no matter how late it is, and it's taking a toll on your body. Including your mental health.
Since you've both been together, you hid the fact that you have a mental illness, afraid of what Izuku may think. You know that he is really accepting and supportive, but you don't want to chance him thinking any less of you. Instead, when you're having a bad time, especially at night, you'd rather keep to yourself, alone with your thoughts than to ask him for help or comfort.
Today had been an especially bad day. You were by yourself for the entirety of the day, and you were alone with your thoughts and feelings. Nothing that you did seemed to ease the horrible feelings you had, so you decided to try a new coping method.
Now, you sit waiting for Deku to come home, with a freshly wounded arm that was poorly covered. You're not the type to wear revealing clothes, so you figured that no one would notice by wearing your normal hoodies and sweaters.
While sitting down on the couch, wrapped tightly in a blanket, you await once again for Izuku to return home. You were watching a late-night TV show when you hear a door open and close. Quietly, a set of footsteps make their way to the living room, stopping behind the couch you're sitting on. You turn your head to lock eyes with Deku, he gently presses his lips against your cheek, leaving a soft, tender kiss.
"I'm home." Izuku sighs, throwing parts of his hero costume onto the floor.
"Rough day?" You grab the remote lowering the volume on the TV.
"Yeah. I was on patrol with Kachaan all day." You smirk for a second as you know how difficult it can be to work with Bakugo. "How about you, did you have a good day?"
"Oh, yeah. It was fine." That was a total lie. Still, no matter how much pain you are in, you still refuse to tell Izuku.
"Only fine?" Deku raises an eyebrow as he approaches the couch, sitting down next to you.
"Yeah..." Turning away, you wrap yourself tighter in the blanket, trying to hide your puffy-red eyes, careful not to let on that you had been crying.
"Y/n, is something wrong?" Deku's voice becomes filled with concern. Gently he lays his hand on your shoulder, to gain your attention. Quickly, you pull away from him.
"I said I'm fine."
"Clearly you're not." Deku lets out a quiet sigh, "Will you please tell me what's wrong?"
"I said I'm fine, will you just leave it alone?"
"No, Y/n. I can't just look over the fact that there's something bothering you. Just tell me, please. You know I'm here for you, so why don't you just let me in?"
"It's not that simple Deku!" You raise your voice as you're becoming more and more frustrated by the second. You don't want him to find out what you've been hiding from him, but at the same time, you don't want to keep lying about how you feel.
