You ever had that feeling as if you were needed but wasn't sure of where or how to get there? Well that was me at the moment. I reached in my pocket and pulled out the phone that Chris gave me just in case of an emergency and since Regina wasn't around I knew I could make this call with ease.

"CODE DANGER" I said to Chris.

"Ok Golden get ready and ill meet you at the front. "

"You remember the rules right?"

"Yea I remember, I'm not cool with them but I will abide by them."

After we hung up I got ready as quick as possible and waited for Chris at the back door. As the door opened I got in the back seat and we were on our way. I was shaking and trembling the closer we got. I wanted to make it safely but I was so damn nervous. Despite the situation I knew this was needed. Now I don't want to make a huge scene so I had to somehow do this quick and see if I could help out even if it's just a little. He let me out the car and said I had thirty minutes. I took a deep breath and found a window and luckily it was my sweet Shyneice's room. I knocked low so that she could hear it but it wouldn't disturb anyone. She got up and opened the window and stared at me with tears in her eyes. Then she moved out of the way so that I could climb in the window. Chris helped me as well and gave me a look so that I wouldn't get all caught up. I went over to her bed and invited her to sit with me so that we could talk for a while.

"Shy what's wrong? "

"Mama she's making it worse and dad is so blind by her fake ways and every time I try to speak to him he acts like I'm invisible." She just balled her eyes out and continued to cry as I soothed her in my arms and kissed her face multiple times.

Suddenly we heard a noise and jumped up. She went to the door and took a peak to see what was going on.

Its dad, he's awake with a bottle in his hand." She looked at me with fear in her eyes."

I took her hand and lead her to her bed and told her to try to sleep while I try to talk to him.

"Mom he can't see you you could get in trouble"

"I'll take care of it you just rest and trust me." I blew her five kisses and slowly opened her door and made my way into the hall. With the bottle in his hand I knew he was drunk or on his way there so I took the opportunity to play it out. To him this will be just a dream but to me this would be the harsh reality.

"Oh Daren what are you doing with that bottle you have a child to raise and a life to live and this is not the way to do it."

"Golden.... What the hell is going on here?" With buck eyes he sat o the couch and I took my place across from him........

DAREN
I knew I had too much to drink at this point cause what I saw was too good to be true. She looked as beautiful as the last time I seen her and I knew I had to be dreaming but for some strange reason I wanted this to be real. I would love to have her back. I knew I had something going on with Regina but this was honestly my soul mate and I don't think that Regina could come close . My heart was stingy and in a way it still craved Golden even after all these years.

"Look this is just a dream I felt like this was needed" Golden said to me as I shook my head and allowed her to start the conversation.

"So how is our daughter doing?"

"Well Golden, I'm dating again and" ... the tears started falling and for some reason I felt guilty.

"Listen Daren this is your life and you can do whatever you feel but just never forget ... you have a daughter to raise and in the wrong hands she can turn from sweet to bitter and if you're not too careful she can turn numb. "

I couldn't speak I just shook my head and made my way over to her and hugged her and asked if I would see her again. She just smiled and told me to put to bottle down and get back into bed. I listened as if she was my mother, but before I went to bed I opened my daughter's door and just stared for a minute with a smile on my face. Tomorrow it's all about us for some reason we needed a day together . I truly have been neglecting my child and placing this women first .. maybe my daughter has a point I should watch . I was rethinking a lot . Seeing Golden gave me a new sense of reality .

The next morning despite my head pounding I got up and cooked me and my daughter some breakfast and decided to take her to one of her favorite places. My daughter loved the wonders of nature so there was a place nearby that I could take her too just so she can ease her mind and enjoy endless trees and creations. I prepared the plates and got her up and told her to get dressed, I know what I told her the night before but today felt different and that dream touched me in a way that I couldn't explain. A few minutes later she came out with her purse and the pill bottle in her hand.

"Daddy please I can change." she said with tears in her eyes.

I reached down and hugged her and took the bottle out of her hand and placed them on the counter.

"Today is about us me and my baby girl and nobody can change that, so lets eat and go ."

"Where are we going daddy?"

"The forest, you love that place!"

"I sure do!"

We sat at the table and started eating, as we begun to talk there was a ringing of the doorbell. I excused myself from the table and made my way to the door and opened it to find none other than Regina standing there with some sort of tickets in her hand.

'What's good Regina how may I help you this morning ?"

"Well Daren I was wondering would you like to go to the show with me since you have nothing better to do."

Giving her a strange look I called my daughter to meet me at the door.

"Look Regina I was going to spend time with my daughter today so I'm afraid I can't join you today."

"Are you serious you rather spend time with a trouble maker than me? After all she did to me you still wanna keep this pathetic twit around?"

My daughter gave me a look and I instantly became angry and tried to slam the door in her face but she pushed the door in.

I instructed Shyneice to go grab the phone so that I could call Chris I felt I needed him here.

"Regina you will not talk to my daughter like that now ima ask you to leave."

As she walked away and I slammed the door, all kind of thoughts ran through my head and what happened next took me for a ride. I heard screaming I turned around to see Regina twisting Shyneice's arm and making her wence in pain. I ran over and snatched her inside and locked the door and told her to pack a bag. I dialed Chris's number and got him on the phone and explained what was going on and told him to come and hide Shyneice at his house for a minute. After she came down the stairs with her bag packed I informed her that she would be going to Chris's house for a minute until I was able to see what was going on . There was a knock on the door and Shyneice opened it but when she did two guys grabbed her and placed her in this van. Confused I asked what was wrong they informed me that they were responding to a call from my wife. I stared at Regina with hate in my eyes.

"Baby when she twisted my am I had to call she's out of control and needs to be tamed."

"BITCH!!" I ran towards her and tried to tackle her to the ground with all my might.

I heard my daughter scream out and I looked in her direction as she mouthed words that took me completely over. I shook my head and for some reason I understood but it still made no sense to me at all.

As they took her away and Chris pulled up Regina was already in her ride and following the van.

"Bro what the hell is going on?"

"I don't know but let's go inside I have to save my daughter. "

As we went inside a lot was on my mind. My perfect day just turned into a living nightmare!! The pain that hurt me the most was ... my daughter was right this entire time ... I pray she forgives me..
