PLZ DONT FORGET TO COMMENT!!!!!!

It was almost 9 PM when Jess finally left, and Alice was getting tired. She said goodnight to everyone, and went upstairs. Out of habit, she closed all of the lights and sat on the balcony in her parents’ room. She wanted to watch the stars a little before she slept. It was something she seemed to be doing more and more often. It gave her time to think, especially about her future.

A lot of her friends were in relationships, but dating wasn’t something she liked. She felt that if she liked a man, she should just marry him. There’s no reason to date a man and end up breaking up with him just to restart the process all over again. That’s why she needed to make sure she knew she was making the right choice before she married anyone. Fortunately, marriage was still a long way off. Her number one priority right now was to finish her studies and graduate. She was almost done with her second year, and if she wanted to, she could finish in just one more year. Maybe then she will think about marriage. She couldn’t imagine herself married and having children. She wondered if she would be a good mom, or a good wife. It all depended on who she would marry.

Thomas. Every time she thought of him, her heart would start beating quickly. His friendly smile made her heart leap. His mischievous eyes gleamed with happiness.  His jokey personality made him fun to be around. She loved everything about him, whether it was looks or personality. She had no idea how he felt about her, but she hoped it was mutual.

Looking around, Alice spotted someone watching her in the house next door. On closer inspection, she realized it was Thomas! Blushing furiously, she hoped he couldn’t read her mind. “This is silly,” she scolded herself. “Of course he doesn’t know your thinking about him.”

Thomas opened the window and stuck his head out. “Hey.”

“Hey yourself,” She replied, her heart beating furiously.

“A penny for your thoughts,” He told her.

“Oh, I was just thinking. About the future and all,” She said quickly, hoping he can’t see the blush that crept up her face. “What about you?”

“I wasn’t really thinking. I just walked by and thought, who’s that sitting outside? So I stopped to see,” he admitted.

“And were your efforts worthwhile?”

“Very much,” he said with a smile. He leaned against the windowsill and chuckled.

“What’s so funny?” Alice questioned.

“If anyone sees us, they will think we are the laziest people on earth,” he shared.

“Well then, I’ll take lazy any day,” Alice said.

“That’s settled then. You are officially the laziest person on earth,” he stated.

“Why thank you,” she said with a giggle.

“Your giggle is really cute,” Thomas said suddenly.

Alice blushed again. “That’s so sweet of you,” She gushed. “Thank you.”

“Care to finish this conversation on normal ground?” Someone asked. Thomas turned around and found his father standing beside him. “Oh hey dad.”

“What secrets are you two discussing?” He asked. Though he kept a straight face, his eyes were smiling.

“I was just telling Thomas about my favorite constellations,” Alice fibbed quickly.

“Oh I see. And which one would that be?” Mr. Byrne asked.

“Orion definitely,” she replied.
