after the night with your brother comforting you, you decided to put on a facade.

you wore a smile more frequently and avoided atsumu as much as you could.

during class you chose the furthest seat away from him and you sat away from him during lunch aswell.

you and your friends were walking out of school.

"hey y/n... your already over atsumu?" yumi asked catiously.

"yea kinda i guess" you responded.

"phew! girl we missed the happy ray if sunshine you were!" yumi sighed relieved.

"yea y/n! she's back woohoo!" kujisa cheered.

"it's okay y/n! you'll find someone better and nicer, so don't worry okay?" jumiko comforted while side hugging you.

you smiled at how amazing friend you had, during the few months when you were heartbroken, they stuck by your side cheering you up day by day.

"bye guys see you tomorrow!" you greeted as you walked towards a familiar black haired male at the entrance.

"hajime!" you called out giddily.

"y/n! you ready ?" he asked.

"yeps!" you chirped.

from afar a bi-coloured male watch on as you and iwaizumi walked, giggling and talking.

"i don't understand why you ended that bet if you liked her atsumu." suna questioned.

"if i went on with the bet i would just get heartbroken, look at her she's so happy with him." he pouted.

"you don't even know if she liked you or not." kita deadpanned.

"she probably doesn't, plus i have asuki now." he retorted.

"she's a rebound tho? you probably don't like her as much as you like y/n" osamu stated.

"guys shut up she's coming!" michinari butted in.

"hi tsumunie!" asuki greeted.

"hey babe" he greeted back.

he led her behind the volleyball gym.

his heart felt wrong, his words were for meant for another, his heart was beating for another.

it wasn't right.

and he felt guilty.

"hey asuki, uhm can we talk?" he nervously asked.

asuki's smile dropped, "ah i know the talk was coming soon"

"h-huh?"

"i see the way you look at her tsumunie, i know im just a rebound..." she paused trying to collect her composure.

"...but even if im only the second choice, im willing to take the chance. at first, you were my rebound aswell, but after these few months together i realised that I've fallen for you. i know i'll never win, so if you want to break up so be it. make sure you get her back okay?" she giggled, a tear dropping down her cheek.

"thank you asuki." atsumu said as he hugged the girl tighter, "im going to do my best to chase y/n!"

"don't let me down kay?" she laughed.

he nodded happily and left the poor girl there, a smile plastered on her face while tears flowed down her cheeks.

"if you have to choose between me and her, choose her. because if you really loved me, there wouldn't be any other choice." she whispered as her voice cracked, her heart throbbing as she felt the pain sink in as she watched the one she loved walk away.

"uhh hey you okay? i heard what he said" aran said to asuki.

"i-it's okay, he loves her. and i'm pretty sure she does too." she said her voice breaking.

aran opened his arms giving the girl permission to come into him embrace.

she rushed forward, her face pressed on his chest crying heavily.
