Third POV

PAST - 11 years ago...

"HEY, KID! WAKE UP!" 

Eunhye opens her eyes and shots up from where she was laying down. She looked around and realized that she was inside an airplane. The young 8-year-old was trying to remember how she ended up in an airplane but all she can remember were the sounds of thunder and a gunshot. 

Then her ears got used to the noises around her and Eunhye sees a couple of men wearing black suits sitting on other seats in the airplane. One man caught her eyes and a memory of her father appears in her mind. But then the memory disappears when she saw blood. She closes her eyes and opens them when she heard someone calling for her.

"Little girl, are you up?" A gentle voice spoke up from her right side.

Eunhye looks at a man with good-looking features and wondered who he was.

Then the man spoke up again but this time with a small smile. "My name's Dr. Park Junseong. I was a friend of your parents," he said gently.

"You know my mommy and daddy?" Eunhye asked in surprise.

Dr. Park softly laughed and nodded his head which made Eunhye smile but then she frowned when she looked at the man who caught her eyes earlier. Dr. Park looked behind him to see where the little girl was looking at and he clenched his teeth when seeing Mr. Kim looking at them with an icy, mischievous glare.

"He... Killed my parents..." Eunhye whispered with so much hate.

Dr. Park looked back at her in surprise. He thought that Sungeun and Yibeom's daughter would be crying for them but instead, he sees her getting angry. This was new.

"I am so sorry to hear about that," Dr. Park whispered back with all sincerity.

Then he looked outside the airplane's window and at the night sky while thinking to himself, "Yibeom... Just why did you have to go and warn Sungeun about Taeho when you knew that you couldn't even protect your lover and daughter? "

"You must be a bad guy, too," Eunhye spoke up while glaring at the man. "Just like those other men who killed my parents."

Dr. Park had his hands in a tight fist after hearing what the child of his best friends had said. Then he looked over his shoulder to make sure that no one would hear his next words, and back at Eunhye who was still glaring at him.

"Eunhye-ah... I swear that I will not let anyone harm you in any way... I made a promise to your father that if Taeho and his men ever found you, I would make sure that you would be safe... So, please trust me, okay?"

The 8-year-old eyed him before asking, "And why should I believe your words?"

Dr. Park pushed back a strand of Eunhye's hair behind her ear before answering with a sad smile, "Because I have two sons waiting for me back home. So I know how badly you mean a lot to your parents."

"You have a family?" Eunhye asked in a soft voice as she remembers her mother's warm hugs and father's sweet smiles.

Dr. Park nodded his head and patted her shoulder. "I miss my mommy and daddy..." She blurted out, her wall crumbling down to pieces.
