A quaint town called Haling Cove
Sat isolated under a dome
Separated from the rest of the world
Every day the town was pelted
With rains that would never end
In Haling Cove there was a boy named James
James was an orphan all his life
Who grew up alone in the streets
He never knew his parents or his family
He never had friends, or hobbies
The heavy rains just made his life worse
James only knew sadness
Until one day
He found a lone puppy
She was cowering by the side of the road
Abandoned and scared and especially soaked
Just like little James was
He took her in, and shared his scraps with her
Gave her shelter under an overhang
In the tight alley he called home
The puppy brought him happiness
Something he had never experienced
And one day, for the first time in his miserable life
James smiled
It was a bright, wide, gleaming smile
And the clouds over Haling Cove
Finally broke that day
And the never ending rains
Ended
