I take one last look back at Leo before I go into the bath hall. He's still waving, an incredibly goofy grin on his face. But this time, he actually does fall sideways off of the room. "Oh my goodness," I mutter, then realize that everyone else is in the bath hall. Instead of ignoring him like I should have, I sprint over to him, dropping my towel.
When I get to him, he's on the ground, moaning. "Hey Faye," he mutters.
I chuckle and offer him a hand. "Oh Leo," I say.
"What's up?" he asks as I haul him up. He's much lighter than I expected.
"Just some Aphrodite drama," I tell him, letting out a sigh. "And you?"
"Just fixing some stuff before Capture the Flag tonight," he says with a wink. "You ready?"
I snort. "I think my half brothers and sisters have a whole lot more to worry about."
"Like what?" his eyes widen.
"Uh.." Before I can answer, I can see fiery red hair in the distance. I know it's her right away. I hold back a growl in my throat.
Leo catches my gaze to her. "She's Aubrey, right?"
I nod slowly, containing my anger. She comes right over to us and swings an arm over Leo's shoulders. She's easily two inches taller than him. "Hey Leo," she says seductively.
"Hi," he says uncomfortably. I grin at him, watching him struggle to shake her off.
"We should totally go out some time," she continues.
"Uh," Leo shoots a 'help me' expression.
I raise my eyebrows. "Leo's with me," I sneer at her.
Aubrey drops her pale arm and scowls at me, obviously infuriated. "We'll see about that." She suddenly smashes her lips onto Leo for a couple of kisses. Leo breaks apart and wipes lipstick off of his face. He looks more annoyed than I've ever seen him.
"Goodbye Aubrey," he barks, placing an arm around my waist.
She hmphs, then stalks away from us, stomping to the Aphrodite cabin to go complain to Drew. "Isn't she something," I say awkwardly, realizing Leo's arm is still around my waist.
He coughs and removes it. "Thanks for attempting to save me."
"No problem," I avoid looking into his dark eyes.
"So you're my girlfriend now?" Leo jokes, shooting me a sincere smile.
"Uh," I stammer, "I was just trying to get her to back off."
"Right..." Leo trails off, then winks at me. "I wouldn't have minded you as my real girlfriend. I already told you, Leo gets all the ladies."
I laugh. "I'm sure you do Leo. I've gotta go shower now-"
"Sounds sexy."
"Haha, very funny. But while I'm gone, try not to fall any other roofs."
"Hey," Leo calls as I'm leaving. "I really appreciate it."
"I got your back, Valdez," I let slip out of my mouth. I mentally slap myself for that one. I'm a massive liar, and by the time I'm done with Leo, I'm sure it's not going to be Aubrey as the massive bitch, it's going to be me.

Piper is humming when I get back to the bath hall. She's the only one left. "Hey Pipes," I step out of my clothes and go into one of the showers while Piper is in a completely different stall.
"Where did you go?!" she shrieks, interrupting her song.
"Leo fell off the roof."
"That idiot."
"Was that One Direction you were singing?" I ask, desperate to change the topic.
"Don't you dare try switching subjects. Tell me what happened," Piper orders.
I take a deep breath. "Aubrey kissed him..."
"THAT SLUT!" she yells out, probably loud enough for her to hear, but I don't care. "And what did you do about it?"
"I blurted that Leo and I were together."
Piper chuckles. "And?"
"She freaking kissed him and shoved her tongue down his throat. It was disgusting."
"She's a bitch," Piper says from her stall.
"He shoved her away then put his arm around my waist," I tell her.
Piper shrieks. "No way! Oh he's in love with you," she taunts.
"Shut up," I throw a bar of soap at her, and I know it hit her.
"That wasn't nice," she turns off her shower and I do the same, putting on my robe.
"I don't know what I'm going to do," I say, stepping out of the shower and going to the mirror to brush my hair. "I don't want to hurt him," I yank on my hair, it's in a billion different knots. "And I don't want to hurt myself."
"How come you're so afraid of falling in love?" Piper asks as she joins me at the mirror, wearing a dark blue robe and her hair up in a towel turban.
"That sounds like a One Direction song."
"Stop that. But really? Why?"
"Look, you want to know something?"
"Sure."
"My dad died about four months ago. He committed suicide. Never completely got over Aphrodite," by that time, tears are gathering in my eyes. "He hung himself. And I found him, his face blue... I guess he felt alone."
"Oh Faye," Piper drops her hairbrush and gives me a long hug. The tears pour out of my eyes and they don't seem like they're going to stop for a long time. Piper holds me there as I cry, unable to stop. "It'll be okay."
"No it won't," I whimper. "He's already gone. He was all I had left."
"Not all men are like Aphrodite and her kids," Piper says soothingly. "And not all of Aphrodite's children are like Aphrodite. I have no intention of breaking Jason's heart just for the fun of it. The previous head counselor of the Aphrodite cabin, I think her name was Silena, she didn't hurt people just because she was supposed to. And you, you don't want to hurt Leo, he doesn't want to hurt you."
"You actually think true love exists?" I ask, wiping at my eyes.
She nods. "But who am I to talk?"
"What do you mean?"
"Promise to keep this a secret?"
I nod and urge her to continue.
"My dad's been kidnapped. And to save him... I have to betray Jason...and Leo."
I don't know how to respond to that. This time, I hug Piper. "You'll find out what to do."
"I pray to the Gods that I will," she sighs. "You don't think true love exists?"
I shake my head. "My dad always told me that all boys will break my heart in the end."
"Aphrodite has that effect on people, making them think that they'll never love again after her. That's what my father seems to think."
"Let's forget about me," I say, thankful that Piper's going to let me talk about something else. "Who's your father?"
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you..."
"Try me."
