The laugh send shivers down her spine and she could feel a rush of adrenaline flowing through her entire body. She was negatively overwhelmed with the situation. Why was she even in it? She should have really trusted her instinct and got away from this terrifing place waaaaay earlier.

The accelerating steps brought her back to presence. He was sprinting again, her cardigan in his giantic, veiny, disproportionately hands.

She started running towards the forest, with the thought that she could hide and sneak away from him. The twisted foot began to hurt more with every step and she wondered how she could even hold her speed, but somehow she managed to.

She lost her vision a few times during the pursuit, but she couldn't stop, not yet.

He would instandly catch up to her and she didn't want to imagine what would happen next, would he kill her? He definetly looked like he could... and would.

By the time she reached the edge of the dark forest, her shoes were completely soaked from the dew on the blade of grass and there were mud splashes all over her calfes.

But she didn't pay attention to them. The scary man was still a few steps behind her, when she entered the forest.

Inside it was noticably colder and the tall trees were even taller than they appeared from the outside. She slowly made her way through the closely together standing bushes.

After a few minutes she shyly looked around her. The man was nowhere to be seen. But maybe he was standing behind a tree and was amusely watching her from there.

She decited to go to the direction she thought the village was. The thought of the feeling she would get when she'd get out and look at the glow from the street lights drove her crazy, she wanted nothing more at that moment.

But a harsh pull back stopped her enthusiastic running. Her heart stopped pumping for a second.

Did he catch her? Was this how her young life ended?

She turned her head around, but surprisingly she saw nobody there. She was stopped by a thorn bush, whose thorns got stuck in her clothing. She almost laughed out of relieve.

Her tense body calmed down a little but instantly froze again when she heard footsteps. Foodsteps coming approximately towards her. A little more south than she was, but still pretty close to her location.

She panicked a little. How was she supposed to get out of this misery before he mabye got to her?

He would probably have to search a little, but he surely roughtly knew her location.

She pulled at her throusers whith all her strenght and managed to get one leg free easily. But it made a loud "wratschhhh" noise.

The footsteps stopped.
