Chapter 3: Truth or Shark!

Y/N Pov: I did not expect a blowhorn to start my day, but it's  what I got. It's also what reminded me that, outside of mansion life, we're still on a reality tv show on a crummy island with mostly average teenagers.

Anyways, we went onto the dock. There, we went into these stands? I'm not sure what Chris is thinking. But before I could voice this, Chris made an announcement.

Chris: "Alright! Since there are uneven teams here, the Rat's 8 to the Maggot's 6, Staci, you're now a maggot!

Staci: "Y'know, my great great great great...

Chris: "Yeah, nobody cares! Now get to your new team! Anyways, today's challenge is truth or shark. I'll announce something embarrassing, and whoever it is has to own up, or their team gets dunked and I reveal who it was anyways! Also, you don't want to get dunked because-"

Dawn: "Please don't tell me you're going to use the mutant creatures on the island for challenges..."

Chris: "Wow, forest girl knows what I'm talking about! Down there, you'll find fang. Don't get close to him though, he knows how to bite and he can go on land! Now, first one is: Who did this on their first and only date?" (As the screen behind him shows a question mark, and then plays a fart sound)

Sam: (presses button) "Where did you get that?"

I felt bad for Sam, so I decided to try and comfort him

"Hey dude, some of us haven't even had dates. You're one of the lucky ones here!"

Suddenly, my buzzer disappeared and came back up under my hand. As my hand came back down, I felt a shock and realized I had pressed the buzzer.

Chris: "Didn't expect that. My embarrassing thing for Y/N was going to be never gone on a date, but he admitted it! 2 points for the rats!"

I heard a few cheers and turned around to see Dawn, Dakota, and Scott cheering, while B flashed me a thumbs-up. Y'know, maybe that was lucky.

The rest of the game was a blur. (A/N since the team got 2 points and 3 with B's answer later, they decided to stay and win. As a result, they don't have to wear the glasses) We did win, upon Lightning suprisingly admitting to once being 300 lbs. As we moved on to part two, I saw a large obstacle course.

Chris: "Welcome to the Mad Skills Obstacle Course! Patent pending. And since it has mad skills in the name, we decided to bring back everybody's favorite geek, Harold! (Camera cuts over to Harold, swinging his numchucks before accidentally hitting himself in the crotch)

Harold: "Hel- Ow!"

Chris: "Anyways, you will be making your way through the course, starting with the kick start! (Camera pans to show a giant boot) then through cannonball run (cuts to cannonball run, before moving past that) "Then, my favorite obstacle, wrecking ball alley. Then to the gang planks, double trouble, and the grand slam! Harold here... Well, he'll be operating the baseball bats on the grand slam. Now, since each team has an extra member, one obstacle will have two people on it. And to make it that much harder, it's a relay race. Each team has a totem: A pole with a rat on it for the rats, and a cage with a maggot for the maggots."

As we gathered into a huddle to decide where we would double up, we heard complaints from the other team.

Scott: "We should double up on the final one. We could give ourselves a final push.

"How about we double up on the 3rd one. If it's Chris's favorite, it's got to be hard.

Dawn: "Good idea Y/N!"

"Ok... So, I'm gonna take one for the team and do the 3rd one. Who wants to pair with me?

Dawn: "I'll do it! After all, I didn't do the first part. It's the least I can do."

"Ok!"

After that, we decided on the order: Lightning, Scott, Me and Dawn, B, Sam, and Dakota. We looked at the other team's order: Staci, Brick, Jo and Amelia, Zoey, Mike, and suprisingly Cameron for the finish.

Chris: "On your mark, get set, go!"

Me and Dawn both watched on in shock as Staci actually took the lead! Brick then walked into a pole a few times, and we watched on in horror as Scott ran from fang. We were caught up with that, so we didn't notice a confused Brick run up and accidentally hit Dawn! Luckily, I was able to grab her hand as she was falling.

After I pulled up Dawn, she actually hugged me...? I'm still not sure what that was about...

Dawn: (While pulling away) "S-sorry..."

"It's fine, don't worry about it!"

Meanwhile, Scott FINALLY got to us. By then, the Maggots were extending their lead.

"Ok, one step at a time, ok?"

Dawn: "Got it!"

We started walking forward, and made our way across. The timing was odd on the last one, and I almost walked into it, but Dawn pulled me back (Thankfully) I was oddly happy after that?! Anyways, we handed the pole off to B, who took off. However, we still just barely lost because Dakota wouldn't stop getting her picture taken.

We all went to the elimination ceremony. There, Dakota was eliminated. It was close with Scott, but she was out. However, Chris let her stay on as an intern.

Back at the hotel, I ran into Dawn again.

"Oh, hey Dawn!"

Dawn: "Hey Y/N, I just wanted to say... Thank you for helping me out there."

"Thank you too! Without you there, I would have been nailed by the wrecking ball. I guess we helped each other out."

Dawn: "Well, I'll see you tomorrow!"
"See you then!"
I went to bed after that, feeling happy and content, knowing I might have a friend here on this toxic island.
