chapter 3

Eddie has just come home when the phone rang.

-hi Eddie
-hey, who is this..?

What do you mean who is this?! You don't recognize my voice Eddie spaghetti?

-oh, hi Rich. Sorry, it's been a while
-Good news. My parents are getting divorce.
-how is that good news?
-I'm coming back to town. Will you guys still want me right? Everyone loves me. Pretty sure the things are boring without me.

-um, kinda. Sorry for your parents though. But you know, after you left we kinda split up.

-I'll call the others so we can make something like a reunion. What do you think? Will you be able to come?
Eddie looked at his mother sleeping in the couch. The doctor said that he should rest. But he was resting this whole time and he didn't get any better.
-where are we meeting?
-how about at the quarry? The weather is good for swimming.
-I'll be there. When?
-next Saturday. Get closer with the others, so it won't be awkward.
Richie called Bill, Beverly and Ben. Eddie called Stanley.

-hey Stan,he said with a low voice
-Eddie? Hi, how are you?
-Good. Look. Richie is coming back to town and if you don't have anything better to do.... Eddie started sweating and shaking. Why he was so nervous to talk to his friend?
-I'll be there, Stanley said. He always knew about Eddie's anxiety problems, and his asthma, so he tried to make it easy for him.
-just when and where. And also Eddie, would you like to come over tonight? I have some new movies we can watch

-um, at the quarry, next Saturday. Can you come over? But climb through the window, I'll tell you later why.
And that happened. Stanley went into Eddie's room, it didn't changed much those 3 years.
-Hi, what happened?
-my mom wouldn't let you come if she knew.I told her I'm sleeping now.
-oh ok.Well i brought the shining! We can watch it on your TV!

And they started the movie. Eddie was feeling comfortable with Stanley, there wasn't this awkward silence or anything..

-Stan,can I ask you something?Why did we...

-split up?Believe me, i have no idea. When Richie moved, it was hard for all of us. But it must be the hardest for you. I remember how close you were.

The time passed quickly and no-one understood how it was already 9:30
-i have to go, Stanley said while he was leaving. But i forgot to ask. Eddie, how are you? I remember you weren't really good with all your pills and stuff.

-Oh, im good. It's getting better,he lied. He didn't want to upset his friend. Im going to the bathroom, you can leave from the window,Eddie suggested.

While Stan was leaving he stumbled on Eddie's comic box. He had a paper box with all of his comics in it. Stanley took one and left a note, saying "x-men 2006,I'm bringing back tomorrow, Stan", but he also saw another paper.
Eddie-Kaspbrak

Eddie had an chek up last Monday. His pills:
Stanley saw the paper, with all Eddie's information, and his examinations. He wasn't ok, he obviously lied to him.

It was Friday, and the two boys came really close to each other. Stanley never said anything to Eddie about his disease, he knows he would tell him whenever he was ready. But weird things were on his room. Last night, Stan found a lighter, and he knows that Eddie is the last person who would smoke. Eddie was really private about everything.
The next day, Richie would finally come to town.

The 6 kids met at Eddie's house. They all came through the window but they would leave from the door this time. Mrs.K was at a friend and she was going to stay there for a few days. It was the first weekend of June, the weather was great.
-h-h-hey Eddie, Bill said while he was climbing the tree.
-where are we meeting Richie? Beverly said.

She hasn't changed at all, her hair were short and she was wearing a white dress.

Bill also looked the same, except he was taller. Mike was always tall. Ben had lost lots of his weight.

-at the quarry. You can all wear your swimsuits at my bathroom. Eddie was pale, more than usual. He seemed sick.

No-one noticed except Stan. He knew that he was sick, that he didn't get better but worst. But he didn't say anything.

They met with Richie at the quarry, he was much taller and his glasses were dark blue instead of black.
-hey losers, you've missed me? He yelled when everyone was running to him. They were swimming in the dirty water, when Richie noticed Eddie's back.

-what's that spaghetti? He said
There was a scar at his back.
-birthmark, Eddie said. But it wasn't a birthmark, and both Eddie and Richie knew it. He didn't said anything, he just went to others.

Later they all hanged at Eddie's house.

-Richie, how are you? Anything new? Bev asked
-well, I had some friends, the school was boring, parents always fighting. Oh. I got a girlfriend.
-What?! They all asked together
