The club was full of people dancing on the floor, the beers were flowing, and after the past few days of stress and annoyance from princess uptight constantly bugging and stressing out on this project, it all started to come together. Still, her stresses were being passed down to me each day even though I played them off well, I never let her see it get the best of me because honestly, It was funny to see her frustrated at times. I did have fun watching her squirm here and there. Seeing her nose wrinkle up as her eyes look back at me like daggers each time was very entertaining to see.
Suppose looks could kill, then I wouldn't have to worry because she looked more like a house cat rather than a jungle cat which was another thing I found adorable. I see James and Courtney come off the dance floor, and head over to the closed-off side she had for us, and they were smiling from ear to ear, which made me happy for James but also a bit envious, But after my luck with women and relationships, there was a reason why I never chose to really settle down with a woman, and the only one that I thought I could've had a life with well she destroyed and shattered that part of my future, so I was in no mood to feel all of that again.
With smiling faces, James and Courtney walk over to the booth I was sitting in just drinking my beer. Well, Kev, are you going to start dancing or sit here in deep thought like a monk? I hear James ask me, and I laughed. "It'll take a few more beers, but I will eventually get there, bro," I replied with a smile, I see Courtney smile back " I hope so; there are plenty of pretty ladies I'm friends with that are here tonight, and they've been asking about you," she says with a laugh and it makes me laugh, James was right she did have an infectious laugh.
"Babe is there a particular lady friend that you might think would be good for my best friend Kev here?" James asks and I roll my eyes knowing well that James is the worst matchmaker I know, last woman he threw at me was a stripper and what was even funnier is that I knew that before he realized it. "Well, I know a lot of great ladies although the only really awesome person I know is my best friend Lexie. however, she is recently engaged and spoken for," she says to James and I. I watched his eyes widen after the news "really? When I met her she didn't say anything about a man or wedding well that's a shame if I had to choose a lady for my friend Kev here she would've been perfect" I chuckled cause I haven't even met this lady and he sounded so sure about her hitting it off with me, but if she is as cool as Courtney then there could be a possibility of making a new friend to hang out with I guess if she too loves to goof around here and there, Courtney herself became a good friend to me so any friend of hers is a friend of mines.
"Yes babe she's spoken for but I'm not sure Kev could really handle my Lexie, she's sexy, stubborn, wild-spirited, funny, and at times rebellious" I see her smirk, and my curiosity is peaked however I did remind myself that she was already engaged Courtney's voice brought me back from my wandering mind. "But her heart is good and all I want is her happiness." I chuckled at how she described her friend. " ahh so who's this lucky guy" I hear James ask " oh he's the oldest son of one of the biggest real estate companies in the states everything from hotels to skyscrapers etc his name is Lionel Adams, but no worries I'm sure you will like him once you get to know him, they will be here soon with Lexie she texted me a few minutes back saying they're on their way here. She says wrapping her arm around James's waist " Adams? Like the 5star hotels and high rises all over New York City Adams?" James says with a little Shock in his tone "yup those Adam's she's engaged to their oldest son the one who's groomed to take over it all as his dad ages and well tries to enjoy retirement, Lexie doesn't say much about it she doesn't like the attention" Courtney says back to him and I watch him nod impressed at what he just heard. "well Courtney I'm always still glad to meet new people as cool as you" I say nicely and she smiles.
