Josh's POV

We arrived home at about 5 PM, unloading a few things from the car and heading to our rooms to shower.

I reluctantly climbed out of the car to head inside, shivering from the air that was still a bit cool after the snow storm. My phone vibrated in my pocket, but I ignored it and focused on getting upstairs.

I entered my room, met with the sight of clothes carelessly thrown on the floor and an unmade bed.

Stepping over the clothes, I went inside my bathroom that was surprisingly organized compared to my room.

I turned the shower on, letting the water run to get warm, and decided to check my phone.

I had a few missed calls from some people, but I was more interested with the messages I had gotten from Chase.

Realizing that I still had his contact as 'Don't Answer', I changed it to a more fitting name, 'Chase'.

I laughed to myself while reading the frantic texts he had sent, asking if we had made it home ok and why I wouldn't respond. After getting tired of typing out my replies, I just face timed him instead.

The phone rang 2 or 3 times before he picked up and his face was displayed across the screen.

"Hey." I said, propping the phone up in my shower so I could talk to him while I was in there.

"Look who finally answered." Chase said.

We talked back and forth, falling into a comfortable conversation as I showered, the sound of the water fading away as I listened to his calming voice.

Once I had finished, I turned the water off and climbed out, reaching for my phone and accidentally knocked it off of the small shelf.

It fell to the shower floor and I leaned over to pick it up, forgetting that I was naked until I saw my body on the screen.

Chase screeched and covered his eyes, making me laugh but quickly pick up the phone and cover myself with a towel.

"Ok, you can look now."

Chase slowly uncovered his eyes, glancing at me nervously and pulling his blanket up to cover him more.

"What's wrong?" I asked, knowing exactly why he was uncomfortable.

"Nothing, just wasn't expecting that I guess." Chase replied.

"Well, you would've seen it eventually anyways." I said.

"You act like we didn't just get together today." Chase said, rolling his eyes but failing to hide the blush on his cheeks.

"Get together? You mean..."

"Uh, I didn't mean to say it like that."

"Well, it could be like that if you wanted it to." I said, not breaking eye contact with Chase through the screen.

He looked at me for a moment, considering what I had said, then responded, "What if I do want it to be like that?"

"Then one day I'll ask you."

"One day? You're so annoying."

I only laughed and shook my head slightly, going inside my closet and grabbing a pair of sweatpants and some underwear.

I got dressed in my closet and walked back over to my phone where Chase's eyes were glued to my exposed chest. I smirked, but decided not to mention that I noticed him staring.

We talked for a while longer until I got an incoming call and hung up with him to see who it was.

My eyes widened a bit as Nessa's name appeared on the screen. I hesitantly answered, bringing the phone up to my ear and waiting for her to speak.

"Hello?" She asked.

"Hi." I said quietly.

"Oh, I'm so glad you finally answered!" She said excitedly.

She continued speaking when I didn't respond, "What happened, you've been ignoring all my calls?"

"Uh, nothing happened, we just got stuck at Hype cause of the storm."

"So? That's not an excuse for not talking to me."

I didn't know what to say. We had agreed to break up a few weeks ago, but she kept acting like we were still together.

"I'm waiting." She said impatiently.

"I've just been busy."

"Busy?! Too busy to make time for your girlfr-" Nessa stopped midsentence.

Suddenly, I felt really bad and was about to apologize for ignoring her and try to salvage our friendship.

"Never mind, go be with Chase." She said, disappointment in her voice.

"What do you mean 'be with Chase'? You know about that?" I asked nervously.

"Everyone knows about, go check tiktok. Anyways, I gotta go."

"Oh, alright, bye."

"Bye."

She hung up quickly, leaving me to think in silence. I opened tiktok and immediately realized what she meant. There were tons of conspiracy videos about Chase and I's relationship.

From the few tiktoks we made together and clips of us in the background of videos, a lot of people assumed we had made up, and a few even thought we were dating.

I shared some of the most popular ones with Chase, sending a message afterwards to ask, 'what's going on?'
